Hooray! It’s that’s moment you’ve all been waiting for. Counting the days, minutes and seconds until our podcast’s triumphant return to the world. Well rest assured kids it’s back, and it may just change your life. Wu-Tang Clan may have said that, they MAY but I can’t guarantee anything for sure, but have you got Method Man’s phone number? No? Well then I guess you’ll never know.
Matt, our in-house beatboxer strolled round my house last week with a bag full of Bounty’s and a bottle of wine, I added my authentic super-power Jamaican rum and this was the result. I wore my boxing helmet, moaned a bit about my feelings, and Matt chuckled like a stoned Father Christmas. Enjoy! Also, check me out trying to get away with saying “Holla”.

For those of you that have followed HHL&T from the start you will be aware we’re big fans of Weston Super Mare crew Techtonic Plates. It’s been a while since they blessed us with something new, but here are some bars TTP member Satch dropped over the Jurrasic 5 instrumental ‘Action Satisfaction’. Satch said “Love This Beat ‘Action Satisfaction’ By J5 For Years Now So I Felt I Had To Bless It, Couldnt Seem To Find A Cut Off Point So I Keep Going Lol”

After going through about 5 emails of baaaad submissions, it was a welcome relief to come across this offering from Mafia Kid. ‘Better Days’ is a reflective track, and Mafia discusses the issues of being in a family with a father that is either not there, not cheating on his mother. I know a lot of people have done this before, but dude does a good job of shinning a new light on it.
Sometimes the blurb says it pretty much, a whole better than we can.
Our homies in The Scribes have had a busy year, and have recently released a lyric video entitled ‘Ha!’ It’s a ridiculously catchy and fun track and stands as good track to wake you all up on this sunny, shinny Monday afternoon. Have a listen, then why not check a cheeky freestyle video we filmed with them a few months ago. You can also get their LP which was released last year over on Bandcamp, and you should because it was one of the best hip-hop releases of 2012.

‘Enigma’ and ‘My Own Worst Enemy’ were both released last summer, and even though I (Aimee) claim to be an Army Of The Pharaohs superfan you would I would have been aware of this already. Well I’m sorry, August 2012 was a crazy summer-I have no real excuse. If you have heard AOTP’s first record ‘The Torture Papers’ back in 2006 you might remember that he was featured on ‘Into The Arms Of Angels. In my opinion, one of the best songs from the whole album. Sadly though this was his only feature on the album, but it was still a ridiculous verse.
Since then he’s been steadily grinding, and released a mixtape and a few weeks ago dropped a track with 4th Assassin, Godilla and DJ TMB, both of which I strongly suggest you get your hands on. ‘Enigma’ and ‘The Game’ are perfect places to start; partnered with the skilled production work of both iSample and 4th Assassin on their respective tracks. You can’t go wrong on either.
Latest video from Essex local Nick Brewer. We’ll be interviewing him this week so look out for that one!
