A new video from Twizzy, off his recently realised album “Working Class Zero”. In case you weren’t aware of it, we’re super fans of Twizzy over here, and this video/track perfectly explains why. It’s alright though, we won’t tell anyone you hopped on the bandwagon a bit late.
Support your scene, save the £3 ($€¥) don’t waste it on an overpriced coffee and cop Twizzy’s album instead.
You know what this slightly hungover (shouts to all the straight edge kids, I wish I had your self-control) Saturday afternoon needs? Some beats tapes, that’s what it needs, and oh aren’t we all lucky because Keith Price has released the 3rd in a series of five tapes today. I think he picked a good cover for this release, an old skool bboy, because the tracks on this tape are pretty reminiscent of the roots of early 1970’s hip-hop. A whole lot of soul, funk and just a touch of guitars.
To get hold of Keith’s earlier tapes just click the links below. As with the other two, this tape was created with just a SP 505, overdubs, no sequencing, a bunch of vinyl and a turntable. Upon the completion of this series he’ll be releasing a vocal album entitled ‘From the Low Point’.
Some serious wordplay and style from Thesis43 (not forgetting a healthy dose of scratching skills from DJ Eminent), don’t sleep on this release. For fans of Atmosphere, Macklemore, Mike mictlan.
“The first beat of a new series called #FREEBEATFRIDAY . This event will happen on very random Fridays through out 2013 depending on how successful the first few experiments go. You can feel free to DL and use this beat for any mix tape, demo, non profit experiment you would like to. If I really like what you do, I might just give you the thing to release commercially.” – SFD
“This evening all roads lead to North London’s prestigious Jazz Cafe for the launch of Micall Parknsun’s highly anticipated ‘Me Myself & Akai’ album!
In keeping with the theme of the album, we thought we’d bring the beats to the forefront tonight, so expect to see a whole different take on ‘live’ Hip-Hop!
The man behind ‘Paul White & The Purple Brain’, ‘Rapping With Paul White’ and countless beats for the likes of Danny Brown, Homeboy Sandman and Guilty Simpson will be stepping to the stage alongside the phenomenal Mo Kolours to give Jazz Cafe a dose of that sticky green medicinal dope-ness with his full live show! Drums, drum machines, keyboards, percussion… This dynamic duo will be showing the crowd exactly how to make them beats BANG! One Handed style!
PLUS: Drummer extraordinaire KWAKE takes time out from his relentless sessions schedule (Jehst’s live band, Speakers Corner Quartet, Aruba Red, Flutebox, Kate Tempest – you name it!) to give us a taste of his one-man show on drums and sample pads.
No stranger to the stage, APOLLO (formerly of Champions Of Nature) will be kicking things off with a special MPC set – showcasing beats straight from the machine.
Also in attendence, one half of Boot Records, turntablist DJ JAZZ T will be holding it down on the ones and twos for the duration alongside the one and only JEHST on hosting duties.
PLEASE NOTE – this event starts EARLY! Doors are 7PM-11PM and live acts will be kicking off at 8PM SHARP!”
