Rich Quick has been around for a while now but these last twelve months he has caught the attention of hip-hop heads all over the globe. The self-confessed ‘Everywhere Man’ is fresh of breath air when it comes to American rappers. With the rise of acts like Chief Keep a lot of British cats seem to be opting for UK acts over their US counterparts, but here is an emcee and performer that seems to be making waves on both sides of the Atlantic.
The album is packed with real world commentary from the perspective of a young man whose dream is to make it on the worldwide stage. A fierce but controlled flow and gripping narrative offers hope in a world full of diluted lyricism for dummies, and after a slew of underground releases he really has come good here.
Bottom line is ‘The Everywhere Man’ is a testament to an MC offering an array of content matched with the confidence to tell a story, even if it’s not about your normal typical ‘moving tons of drugs’, ‘fucking bitches’ and being ‘covered in jewels’. Rich’s lyrical assaults are just as potent as his social commentary and core fans of real rap will adore this collection of fourteen monster cuts. Rich Quick returns to the UK for a full tour in February and March of 2016 and if this album is anything to go by, it’s something we all need to go and see.
