Official video for the track Zone One taken from Sonnyjim’s Psychonaut LP out now on EATGOOD / Obese Records. This is the b-side to the forthcoming second single from Sonnyim’s Psychonaut project, this time its Zone One getting that visual treatment. This one was shot out in Bristol when Sonnyjim was performing for Rhyme and Reason last month. This sees Sonnyjim is doing what he does best, great bars and inventive flows alongside long time collaborator Eyebs on the beat Sonny gets introspective over the hypnotic backdrop analyzing his character traits and goals; it almost reads like a personal mantra and in the process it comes off slick as ever!
In a similar vein to the acclaimed ‘Squirrelz with Gunz‘ compilation released in 2007, ‘The Stomach of the Mountain’ is a compilation of Chemo‘s finest production and remix work from 2007-2011. Featuring vocal talent from the likes of Jehst, Roots Manuva, Triple Darkness and even ‘New York Rap Legend’ Tragedy Khadafi. The latter part of the album perhaps represents a slight shift away from the purist Hip Hop that Chemo is reputed for, however the intensity never dips, even in some of its more eclectic moments.

Lullaby is an integral part of the London based crew H.O.O.D Fellaz who you may remember from their January 2011 UK Runnings mixtape ‘New Year Resolution’. They have featured on many underground radio stations both in the UK and overseas and have featured on mixtapes hosted by the likes of Papoose, Freekey Zekey (Dipset) and Sheek Louch (D-Block), as well as featuring on various volumes of the UK Runnings mixtape series ‘Grimewatch UK’.
Now emcee and producer Lullaby unleashes his debut mixtape entitled ‘Not Normal’ hosted and mixed by Tricksta from UK Runnings. This eleven track mixtape is maybe not what you might think from a member of a crew known for doing harder edged grime and street rap. Don’t get it twisted, there’s some neck-snapping bangers on here, but it’s all delivered with a more musical approach with a sound that lends from the golden era sound of Hip-Hop while remaining current and very forward thinking in it’s approach.
‘Not Normal’ is in fact ‘not normal’ for so many different reasons!!! This isn’t one of those twenty track plus mixtapes where you actually get bored half way through and this isn’t a mixtape that is full of freestyles or bootlegs. Instead this is more like a street album that has a vibe executed with brilliance from producers Ant Will and Lullaby. The marriage of their song and production ideas is pure bliss and with guest features from Dexodus, Uncle Mix, Oliver Sudden, Lego, Joe Fire & Tintz this really is something to download right now!

Jaz Kahina is a female rapper and well known face on the UK Hip Hop scene, having showcased her talent at countless open mics and live shows alongside artists such as Wiley, Mr Ti2bs, Illaman, Prose & Pariz-1. Jaz Kahina has recorded with various artists and has appeared on BBC 1Xtra’s Fire In The Phone Booth presented by Charlie Sloth aswell as being featured on DJ Semtex’s blog. Jaz Kahina is an extremely versatile rapper that is able to write to many genres of music and can vary her lyrical content from clever word-play to insightful, intelligent and conscious lyrics delivered with confidence and passion.
With a strong love of Hip Hop and a developed sense of musical direction, Jaz Kahina now releases her debut single “Gone” in which she teams up with New York legend Agallah Don Bishop, formerly 8-Off The Assassin who’s impressive back catalogue includes collaborations and production for artists such as Busta Rhymes, Mobb Deep, EPMD, Beatnuts, Big Pun and Cameron to name but a few. This single is a high-energy modern classic reminiscent of Hip Hop’s “Golden Era” intended not only as a breath of fresh air for those that are frustrated with the lack of substance presented by the current music scene but also as a potential mainstream hit catering for those less concerned with content.
Jaz Kahina and Agallah perform fiery, passionate and witty lyrics with a hardcore feel that is cleverly balanced by an uplifting, bouncy soul-sample beat with a summer vibe, produced by one of the UKs finest – DJ Slademan who has previously produced for UK acts such as Terra Firma and more recently US artist Jae Millz from Little Wayne’s Young Money record label. With UK Hip Hop legend Mystro’s DJ Thor on the cuts, “Gone” is set to gain widespread attention contributing to a much needed presence of strong and versatile women in hip hop.
Presented with an original, stylish and high quality video, “Gone” will be released via Island Def Jam Digital Distribution and is available now for digital download on all major download sites.
