You might remember a few weeks back we posted a video by London MC, Miski. Well we rated her then, and we rated her now. The verses are by far the highlight of this track.

For those of you that may think we only seem to promote London gigs, we’re sorry if you feel like we’re neglecting other cities or countries but it’s simple as if we get sent an event and it’s based in the South East of England then we’ll promote it. If you’re putting on shows or events and want some love then send us some info and we’ll have it up for you hhlifeandtimes@gmail.com. Anything to help promote our scene and culture!

On Sunday 18th December from 5pm – 9pm join us at CAMDEN ROCK for some RnB, Pop & Hip Hop.

MS GALAXY

Is a Singer and perhaps more importantly a Songwriter. This is something Ms Galaxy is very proud of and makes it her personal business to ensure that anyone following her is aware of this fact. A massive talent that we have booked in North & South London, 2012 will be a big year for this young star.

TOO MANY T’S

Is a freshly brewed musical duo, hot off the screen print and big in the A-team. A unique Funky Style of Full Fat Beats, stirred in with two heaps of sugary fresh raps, comical swagger and the distinct fragrance of the golden era of hip hop.

PHAROAH

Is a young man, fairly new to the game, but has shown in his handful of bookings for Meow in November that he has the work ethic to go along way. We have given him a headline slot to inspire him to greater things.

DELICIA LE FOUX

Is a sample of the best of British Raw Talent. Delicia is Singer, Songwriter, Producer and is behind the full production of her own music. As an unsigned artist it is vital for Delicia to gain respect from her fan base and other musicians in the music industry.

EMMA VIE

21 Years Old Female Producer/Artist from North West London with a passion for making
the best of Neosoul, RnB, Hip Hop & Funk.

Respect Tha God – ‘Oookay’ Single Review

Posted by hiphoplifeandtimes on December 5, 2011
Posted in: Music Videos, Reviews. Leave a comment

You know what we’re missing in hip-hop nowadays? Nah, what we’re reaaaaally missing. Faux English accents!

For those fans of Jeru The Damaja and his crew Perverted Monks then this will come as a treat for you, and for those of you who aren’t fans or aware of him this’ll still come as a treat. It’s a win, win situation really. Already well known, this is Respect’s 9th release not to mention all his various collaboration. Dude keeps himself busy. In between drinking tea, dancing around a park and driving with no hands Respect Tha God manages to throw out a hook laden track with consistent flow, clever content and all around instantly memorable lyrics.  A lot people seem to think that you can’t write a fun and funky song without loosing the substance and originality of the art. “Oookay” is a perfect example of why you can, and if done well can become a classic. Yeah that’s right I used that word and without shame. Talking of classic, the beats and production a welcome fresh of breath air. For every badly produced, empty beat there’s DJs and producers like DJ Amor and Sahmim Badie to combat it. It’s well versed and not over-layed to the point of saturation. In my books it’s a tradional sounding production that comes off clean but still retaining the edge that only an underground joint can give you. If you fancy giving it a listen (and a watch) then move your eyes down below to catch the video.
Thanks to Configaration Promotions for sending this one our way, much respect!

This is the first single taken off Respect’s release “Altered States” which features Nine, Smiff N Wessun, Creative Juices, Sammy Bravo, and many more!

Kulez – Kuda Brown EP

Posted by hiphoplifeandtimes on December 5, 2011
Posted in: Album Releases, News, Reviews. 2 Comments

Industry experts and music critics have once labeled Kulez a gem, a diamond in the ruff – what use is a gem if it is easy to find. With this in mind summer 2011 saw the release of a rare hard to get hold of EP under his alias Kuda Brown.

It was a EP with a sense of anger, you can feel the aggression especially in tracks like Fight For the Mic. Some called it a LP but still Kulez argued his case saying it was to short for a full length album. Others said it was offensive with tracks like Master Plan being sexist, chauvinist and advocating drug use.In a genre of music with a history of gang star rap where it is cool to be a dealer, Kulez makes something for the users, something for the people that have seen it from the other end of the table.

We saw Kulez break from the comical rapper we know from the mixtapes and the underground hit “Smell the Tea” to create a side character and stick to one concept for the whole EP Kuda Brown sounds like he needs a shrink, his laboratory was a lavatory and boasts about being broke with tracks like “I need Money”.

The release was a self portrait of the underground rhymer dependant on intoxicants and not afraid to be honest. He was an artist surrounded by a lot of success from the battle scene and a lot of other acts going mainstream from the battle scene. Kulez remained underground promoting himself, self marketing and did regional tours performing hardcore hip hop in local area clubs. This generated a healthy underground buzz.

Late 2011 sees Kulez start KulENT a registered brand focusing on music, lifestyle, entertainment & professionalism. N2KR a record label and music production company as well as publishing in preparation for a single release titled “Say Hi to My Mrs”. You can clearly define the transition from his alias and at a glance you would think it is a love track…

LATE – Enter The Sector (Review)

Posted by hiphoplifeandtimes on December 5, 2011
Posted in: Reviews. Leave a comment

LATE is back with a new Tricksta produced Hip-Hop banger that will appeal to fans of that raw Hip-Hop sound. Featuring cuts from Jabba Tha Kut, this track bangs with an almost Kung Fu feel to it, which obviously we liked. LATE kills it with the bars on this one and the whole vibe here is as Hip-Hop as they come. ‘The Real Hip-Hop Representer’ once again does his thing, and does it well! Good Hip-Hop from the Midlands veteran.

Pavy – Middle Class Ignorance (Single Stream)

Alright kids? Happy Monday! So it’s 4pm which means in around an hour or so a lot of you will be hopping in your pimp rides (hoho!) and heading home from a hard day of selling crack, drinking 40s and fucking hoes…Sorry this isn’t a Wocko Flocko Flame video my bad. Oh my days I am a funny one.
Anyway if you’re need of a driving track then look no further,  Dutch Cannon produced “Triumphant” is a perfect jam to get you hyped when you’re keeping within the speed limit and waving at the 5.0. This comes ahead of Pavy’s new album “Middle Class Ignorance” that will be dropping January 17th 2012. Pavy said “This song is so special to me and I hope it empowers you the way it empowers me.” and when you’re filling especially good about yourself this is a perfect anthem. There is a tiny, tiny little bit of vocal shenanigans but it only lasts for a few seconds so give the dude the benefit of the doubt on this one.
