You know what we haven’t had in the last couple of days? A free album of some sort! Well how about a nice album stream and download to rock you to sleep, or if you’ve got one of those phones with all the extra buttons and programs you could stream this walking around. Whoa technology. Although why you would stream if you can just download? Anyway since this is a hip-hop site we’ll assume you like the Beastie Boys and/or Cypress Hill and are familiar with Eric Bobo. But hey if you don’t and you’re not then that’s fine too ’cause you’ll still enjoy this.
Ritmo Machine is the musical collaboration of Eric Bobo and DJ/turntablist Latin Bitman, and below is link to one of the tracks off the album “Maestro”.
And here’s a video of the two making the record just because who doesn’t like using their eyes?
Two completely different tracks from the same mastermind. The beats and MCing might be different but the signature sound of Configa is easily recognisable. Schmoooth and full of punch all at the same time. We’ll be reviewing the man himself and his latest release “Calm Before The Storm” (which out now) this week so here’s a little sneak preview with two tracks featuring the vocal talentry (yeah I know that’s not a word but it should be) of John Graham and Jaz Kahina.

For those not aware (and why would you be?) Stix is from East England, Tricksta’s from up North and I’m (Aimee) from the South West. Why is this relevant you may ask? It’s relevant because whenever I hear records from around my hometown I get just that little extra excited. Although don’t get it fucked up we won’t only promote localised music, it’s just nice when a group or artist comes out of the place of your birth.
With that in mind let me introduce you to Standup Recordz’ latest signing ”Split Prophets” from the greatest city in the south (in my humble opinion) Bristol! These dudes have bars for days, and flow enough for any track. We should hopefully be interviewing these dudes soon, Steven from Standup is sorting that out for us so thank-you!
