Whoisparadise shows the world why he’s still one of the best to ever do it! A&R’s get ya wallets out (lol), the Brixton born, New York raised emcee already has Mobo nominations, live gigs all over the world, and radio play on most ‘credible’ urban radio stations under his belt. As an integral part of 57th Dynasty with Hip-Hop producer Charlie Parker he grew an empire with Fas Fwd Entertainment.

Our homie Jo Ranson, a freelance writer (the real kind, she actually works) wrote a really interesting and painfully obvious article about Social Media and how to properly use it to your advantage if you’re namely an MC, producer or singer. If you spend all day just spamming your Facebook friends and nothing much else, then you should really give this a read and sort it out.

“But what about LinkedIn? From what I’ve seen over the past two years or so, not many people seem to be aware of this social media platform and the importance that it has started to have on searching for jobs and promoting your brands. Whilst casually browsing the journalism.co.uk website, I came across an interesting post about how journalists can use LinkedIn for their benefit. Although the post details methods for finding news stories, managing contacts, networking and promoting yourself through groups and online communities, the ideas can be transferred to different areas of promotion.”
Yes lazy Sundays. Aren’t you a lucky bunch? Whilst you sit there in your pants eating your Sunday dinner, we’re busy at work finding you some of the best underground hip-hop from all over to bless your little ears with. Hey, life could be a lot worse!
This afternoon we were pointed in the direction of DJ Bunty & Zayn’s new joint “The Birth” by the boys over at Standup Recordz. I hate to sound like a bit of fangirl, but Standup have really upped their game and as yet I have yet to listen to an artist they’ve put out that isn’t a solid addition. This track is no different. The production is heavy and whilst sometimes horns can sound cheesy and plastic, they perfectly compliment the scratching’s trickery. The production as a whole has a really warm bass and it instantly made the song catchy as Hell.
MC wise, I’ll admit I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for the old Scottish accent but that being said it doesn’t win points with me. Luckily for Zayn the boy doesn’t need to rely on my bias, ’cause he’s got a smooth and original flow that lends itself to the style of MCs that rap from the top half of their bodies. It’s calm and well rehearsed, the rhymes aren’t obvious and not always necessary. If this is a single pick from the album that I’m backing it. You should too.
