HELLO

Check the latest Novar FLIP single ‘Hello’. The song is a take on Adele’s new single, with a Hip-Hop twist from Novar FLIP’s own production. The vocals tell a story that many can relate to, of trying to communicate and apologise after a break up. It is available for free download from bandcamp with explicit, clean and instrumental versions.

Endemic Emerald & Skanks [Bankai Fam] – ‘Trouble’ #AUDIO #DL @EndemicEmerald @therapmartyr @NoCurePR

trouble

Endemic Emerald & Skanks the Rap Martyr present their collaboration album opus entitled ‘Rapsploitation’. Producer Endemic first met Skanks in Brooklyn mid-2013 when he first touched down in NYC. The duo built on the Nostrand Ave blocks & started to work instantly as they shared a similar stance on hip hop.

Skanks stated: “I first rocked on Endemic’s beats on the Ruste Juxx Adamantine project which he produced for Duckdown Records, so I knew a joint project would be Ill. Working with him also allowed me to sharpen my skills as an engineer & I recorded material for G Stats & Bankai Fam after we built a studio on my block in Crown Heights”

‘Trouble’ is the project’s lead single which portrays tales of US police taking innocent black lives. Skanks breaks down his frustration with the recent events while another Crown Heights O.G – Eric E-Class Wright intensifies the track with his vocals on the hook. Skanks is a founding member of Brooklyn’s Bankai Fam who released their debut, ‘On my side’, in 2013 & has also released an influential solo LP on French label; Shinigami records. At age twelve he was known as Problem Child & opened up for MC Lyte on numerous US tours, gaining accolades from many of the 90’s legends.

Producer Endemic Emerald has released two instalments of his Terminal Illness series along with albums on Duckdown Records & EMI. Originally hailing from the UK he is now based out of NYC & still maintains a role in the UK scene. Members from the Wu tang Clan, Boot Camp click, Ill Bill, Skyzoo, Immortal Technique, Royal Flush, Roc Marciano, Easy Mo Bee – these are just a few of the artists he has worked with. Endemic added: “Skanks is one of my closest people out here in NYC, he actually hooked me up with a room and initial place to stay in Crown Heights. Soon after, I moved across the block & ran the studio while we made major moves. This album encapsulates the natural recording process which is missing in many albums & songs these days.”

Rapsploitation showcases Skanks as his finest delivering lyrics with substance over a diverse sound set from Endemic. Featured appearances come from Shabaam Sadeeq, Ruste Juxx, Tragedy Khadafi, Mic Handz, DJ Ready Cee, Darkim be Allah & Bankai Fam. The Album drops February 2016 via No Cure Records / IDC.

Percy Filth & @GregBlackmanUK – Stank Nebula Snippets @StankNebula @LORDPERCYFILTH @EatGoodRecords

StankNebula

This release is gonna be DOPE!!

The Stank Nebula project features off kilter slapping beats backed with smooth vocals from artist Greg Blackman, joining Percy & Greg on this stankventure are artists Jack Jones (Audessey from Soundsci), Mystro, Ty and EATGOOD’s Sonnyjim & Kosyne.

Imagine the ghost of Cameo being kicked down the stairs by a horny transformer. Imagine a flying saucer full of synthesizers crash landing in a bowl full of soul treacle. Imagine the bat mobile mounted with giant speakers low riding through the canyons of mars.

That is the sound of the Stank Nebula.

Struck by the passing cloud of purest stank as it wafted through the studio one day, DJ and producer Percy Filth and vocalist Greg Blackman were momentarily possessed by a hybrid child of The Funk and The Wonk, known simply as: THE FWONK!

When they came back to their senses weeks later they were surrounded by devastation. Percy Filth had, in his stank-induced trance, completely abandoned his traditional sample-based approach and had played all musical content on the synths!

GB appeared to have siphoned off purest Essence Of Swegnometry from Rick James, Roy Ayers and Maze, creating unusually slinky vocals. He also seemed to have travelled the world abducting well known MC talents and transforming them into Soul Superheroes with his Stank Ray!

Ty, Mystro, Sonnyjim, Jack Jones (AKA Audessy of Soundsci) and Kosyne are among those worst affected. We hear they are making a swift recovery and should be back to normal any time now.

The end result is 6 sure-to-be-classic tracks that are wonkier, dirtier, fuzzier and stinkier than anything else produced in the UK Hip Hop Soul for a very long time.

Sheek Louch ft Ghostface Killah – “I Luv It” #AUDIO @REALSHEEKLOUCH @GhostfaceKillah

blackgorilla2

Yonkers, NY native Sean D. Jacobs, better known as Sheek Louch, has been a significant presence in the rap game for decades. Sheek started rhyming at a young age under the influence of friend Jadakiss, and along with Styles P, the three went on to form The LOX. After being ‘discovered’ by the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige, the trio went on to sign with Sean Comb’s Bad Boy Records where they released their 1998 platinum record, Money, Power, & Respect, (#3 Billboard 200). After contributing to hits like “It’s All About The Benjamins”, the group later parted ways with Bad Boy and went on to release 2000’s We Are The Streets (#2 Rap/#5 Billboard 200) through DMX’s Ruff Ryders Records. The trio also appeared on numerous hits including Mase’s “24 Hrs. to Live”, and Mariah Carey’s “Honey”. With his Lox Partners, Sheek eventually began working on D-Block records – a label founded by three rappers with its own studio and its own agenda.

Not one to ever stop touring or recording, Sheek Louch has five solo albums under his belt including 2008’s critically acclaimed Silverback Gorilla (#5 Rap) (Koch) and 2010’s Donnie G: Don Gorilla (Def Jam) (#2 Rap).

Silverback Gorilla 2 will be Sheek’s first album via Tommy Boy Entertainment (Ghostface Killah, Method Man) in stores worldwide on 04-12-2015. The album features the grit and grime that Sheek and Lox fans know and love and features verses from friends and touring cohorts Jadakiss, Styles P, Ghostface Killah, Fabolous, Pusha T, Swizz Beatz, A$AP Ferg and Raheem DeVaughn among others. In addition to recent performances at the 2015 BET Awards in honor of Bad Boy’s 20th Anniversary, Radio City Music Hall with The LOX, Hot 97 Summer Jams, Sheek Louch and Ghostface Killah will be on tour throughout the winter and Sheek will be touring Europe with The LOX in December http://www.songkick.com/artists/117895-lox/calendar.

With three already well-received tracks from the project, including “Bang Bang” f/ Pusha T which was premiered by The Fader, “Hood Nigga” f/ Billy Danze, Joell Ortiz & Trae Tha Truth and “What’s On Your Mind” which features his LOX brethren Jadakiss and A$AP Ferg which was exclusively premiered by Complex, Sheek returns today with “I Luv It” featuring Ghostface Killah and exclusively premiered by XXL.
