Last week, Joey Badass brought the entire Pro Era crew to kick it on Toca Tuesdays. Here’s a cypher from the entire crew. Tune in to Toca Tuesdays each and every Tuesday from 8p till 12a on Shade 45.
‘Hole In My Heart’ is the lead single from North West London rapper Thai Matic.
Taken from his current EP End Of The Weak. The instrumental of the song is carried by a warm guitar riff as Thai Matic details his woes to the backdrop of a consistently echoing clap. Within the song Thai Matic seems to ultimately concede to inner demons confessing that he is what he is and fighting the current is energy consuming and worthless.
Confess he may but it does not leave Thai Matic with a free conscience. Life can be a rollercoaster, turbulent and rough, and in conclusion the troubles of ones past can eventually leave you with a deep hole in your heart.
Amy True of Caxton Press brings her soul/hip hop influenced sound to Beats, Rhymes & Revolution. A Pure organic Hip Hop event that takes it back to the essence. Presented by bigCakes. Beats dropped by Kwake and DJSnuff (Speaker’s Corner Quartet/End Of The Weak).
Instrumentally this song’s pretty chilled, but the lyrical focus isn’t at all. ‘Spondoole’ charts the ridiculous notion that we have to sell our time to companies in order to survive. Fuckery.
