petecannonguilty

Two bangers from UK producer Pete Cannon with vocals from Detroit mainstay Guilty Simpson. Pete turned to Guilty Simpson to provide vocals for the track “This Year” which brings his unique brand of production incorporating boombap drum breaks with spaced out twisted synthesizers.

Pete Cannon is one of the hottest producers on the scene in the UK at the moment having worked with the likes of Sway, Del The Funky Homosapien, Stig Of The Dump, Million Dan, Jam Baxter and Dirty Dike and more.

Guilty Simpson is one of motor cities finest hip hop exports, a stalwart of the Detroit scene he’s worked the who’s who of the cities  prolific talents; J. Dilla, Houseshoes, Black Milk, 14KT and other heavy hitters Madlib, Apollo Brown, Eric Lau and many more.

These two tracks hit heavy, with Guilty’s trademark gully slow-flow.

CZARFACE (@InspectahDeckWU @Bladerunner7L &@MCEsoteric ) Ft Action Bronson – Its Raw [AUDIO]

With  his illustrious career spanning nearly two-decades now, it would be easy for  Inspectah Deck to sit back and rest on his laurels; after all, he has helped  create some of the best hip-hop music ever recorded. Despite his low-key  persona, Deck carved out his own unique space in the Wu-Tang Clan, thanks to his  stand-out verses from “C.R.E.A.M.,” “Protect Ya Neck” and his otherworldly verse  on “Triumph” among many. Likewise, who could forget Deck’s contributions on  Ghostface’s Ironman (“Assassination Day”), his many appearances on Raekwon’s  OBFCL, GZA’s Liquid Swords (“Cold World”) or his collaborations with Gang Starr  (“Above The Clouds”) and Big Pun (“Tres Leches” which also featured Mobb Deep’s  Prodigy).

Throughout Deck’s career, whether it was beside his  fellow Wu-Tang brethren or in a solo-capacity, he is as adamant today about his  culture and pushing the creative envelope as he was before Enter The Wu-Tang: 36  Chambers became an epic masterpiece; hence the formation of CZARFACE, a new  collaborative project with underground icons 7L &  Esoteric.

With guest  appearances from Ghostface, Action Bronson, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, Roc  Marciano, Vinnie Paz, Cappadonna & additional beats from DJ Premier & Oh  No, you can expect nothing less then top notch production and rewind worthy  lyricism from CZARFACE. “We are CZARFACE because they know our faces and they  know us for being dope rhyme suppliers, like Tony Montana we are known for our  balls and our word; lyrically we will conquer the world and everything in it”  states Deck. Esoteric explains further, “CZARFACE is a vigilante, anti-hero  character who serves as the face of the project, and his focus is on  annihilating the media darlings that the mainstream caters to.”

CZARFACE will be released on 19-02-2013 via Brick  Records

Kal Sereousz - Ill Suffit D'unne Fois - Cover 400

The long awaited new project from Kal Sereousz is now available for your listening pleasure. ‘Ill Suffit D’unne Fois’, roughly translating to ‘It Only Takes Once’ is the prequel to the concept album where Kal Sereousz adopted an innovative approach to rhyming. This new approach forced Kal to experiment with song arrangement and display his creativity as he tackled each song on the album armed with only one verse.

IOT1 originally scheduled for release last December, was shelved due to many reasons. That album may never see the light of day but fans will at least get to experience the same concept on Ill Suffit D’unne Fois. ISDF Production is served by Kal’s long time team of Jon Phonics, Kelakovski and Chemo who deliver a combination of melodic but hard hitting boom bap bangers.

Another one of Kal Sereousz’s veteran production team is 1xtra DJ/Producer Crissy Criss who has never  actually contributed to a Kal Sereousz project until now. Jeeks also provides some heat as does Kal himself with another appropriately experimental progressive Hip-hop effort.

Features are a plenty as ISDF sees Kal trading flows with the best underground emcees in London including TBear, Big Cakes, Shameless, Cyclonious, Raggo Zulu Rebel, Skillit, Kinetik and many more. Various artists and producers from East London contribute to this which proves ‘Ill Suffit D’unne Fois’ to be the definitive 2013 East End Hip-Hop sound.

@BigDuttyDEEZE – Exclusive Interview (Audio)

In late November Tricksta managed to tempt Big Dutty Deeze away from the studio long enough to get him to sit down with us, and answer a few questions. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but it turned out to be one of our most in-depth interviews we’ve ever done. Deeze discussed everything from his family and up-bringing, to his views on UK hip-hop, rappers being more aware of the effect their music has on people, being attacked by the police, and his plans for the next year. Dude even dropped the name of two albums that he plans to release, and he’s barely just put out ‘Vitamin Deeze’. If I was a 1920’s reporter from New York, I’d say I got the scoop. Does that sound cheesy? Either way, I strongly suggest you give this interview a listen, hear our man talk about the 5th an most important element, you know? Knowledge.
