Some classic cuts from the 1996 DMC World Championship DJ Noize.
This album deserves a whole lot more hype and promotion than it’s received. ‘Gotham’ is only a taster and it’s better than a majority of more well-known and hyped artists I’ve heard recently. We’ve promoted these guys before, but you need to take our word for it and give them a serious listen. Honestly, I haven’t heard a group or rapper take hip-hop in this direction for a long time, especially when it comes to Rain’s production. It’s weird, almost computer game-esqe but firmly rooted in tasty drum beats and a healthy dose of scratching. I know it’s only January but I’m already reserving a place in my top 5 hip-hop records for this release. No exaggeration, and no gassing this is all true. Hop on the bandwagon. I could say for fans of, but they’re all pretty different so here’s 5 to give you an idea, kind of:
Aesop Rock, Ant (Atmosphere), Cunninlynguists, Ryan Lewis, Blue Scholars.
Buy this album.
For those of you that are super students then you may remember when we posted a video featuring Kb Da Boss, and we got so excited and told you all go out and buy it. Well this is a track from Kb featuring Sucoo; it’s a smooth paced track using the beat from Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Blow My High’, with some pretty funny wordplay from both Succo and Kb.
A massive beat tape featuring a plethora of producers and DJs from all over the world; Run C.T., Ten Ka Pi, Supreme Scientist, Ogi Feel The Beat, D’ELEMENTS, DJ HellBlazer, DJ Sapien, Jondis, Ymsé, A-Beats, JP Balboa, VidDa176 and a whole lot more. In association with 035Underground and S17 records.
Yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh! Don’t be silly though of course this is good. HHLAT 100% back Mr 13, that’s it.
Nick Brewer is now giving away his track ‘Ashamed’ for the grand total of nothing, for you all to get your greedy little paws on.
Feel as though, you should probably enjoy this because it’s Psalm One on a joint with Neak that says it all. Don’t worry though, for those of you that aren’t too cool for school like us (too much knowledge for college too), this is well-versed and clever track for fans of Trek Life, Grieves.(Seriously though, c’om man it’s Psalm One).
A really catchy release from Drelavey, in the vein of J5, Dilated Peoples and The Beatnuts.
Bars, bars, bars! You can also get hold of T.B’s mixtape Bear With Me Vol1 if you click the link.
A pretty catchy track from Portland local, Cool Nutz featuring Bosko & Maniac Lok. You can also download the album for free over at Cool Nutz website. http://www.coolnutz.net/
