Our inbox is still full of mushy, mushy Valentine’s Day song, and whilst I have more feelings than can really physically fit in one person, some of the songs just make me want to fall asleep. Luckily, Jus Daze released this stripped down, and very honest song about men’s treatment of women, minus the cliche, boring lines that you might expect from a ‘love song’. Always a fan of Jus Daze, listen up to him and stop being a creep.

Another song to prove why I love the underground so much. Radio B doesn’t go in for any bullshit or bling, he’s all about perfecting his art. This song is all about the lyrics, and style. If you’re feeling this, then you can get the full-length version of ‘The Life’, along with the whole album ‘Live Good Be Great’ over at his site here.
So there I was, moaning away on our Facebook and Twitter account about how bored we are with the same old sexist, and badly written bullshit we get sent on a daily basis. Yes b, I’m sure you’ve got a huge cock and all the bitches love you…Thankfully, I was only sad about this for a few minutes until Matthew from UK crew The Breaks Collective showed me this video. Suffice to say my faith was once again restored after watching ‘Sleep’. Another reminder that there’s far too much good hip-hop coming out from the underground to ever really lose faith in this. ‘Sleep’ is a super catchy and cleverly made song and reminds me a lot of a mix between The Scribes, QELD and Jehst (see that boy live and you’ll see it straight away). We’ll be reviewing their fourth-coming release ‘Audio Art’ soon, so I’ll probably tell you they remind me of those guys all over again, so act surprised Until then, enjoy.
Skipp Whitman’s right, it does suck being broke. I think this song is relevant to about 80% of the underground hip-hop heads right now. Don’t worry we’re just as poor as you too. Collectivity Stix and I could do with about 40 grand, that would sort us out nicely.
Back to the track, this is an instant repeater and I haven’t stopped nodding my head yet. You can stop Skipp from being so broke by heading over to his Bandcamp page, and copping his new album ‘5AM’ for a a few measly bucks.
“To mark what on 9th March would be the 16th anniversary of the tragic death of the man many consider ‘the greatest mc of all time’ we are going in hard to represent for Brooklyn’s finest the one and only Notorious Big aka Biggie Smalls.
Mr Thing & Spin Doctor are going to go back to back in a 2.5 hour Biggie tribute set mixing his classics tracks, guest verses, remixes & original breaks. Expect to hear not only the classics you already know and love but a selection of lesser known bangers!

Having represented many a session with their sweet selection of Dancehall, Reggae, Lovers Rock & Soul, it’s always a pleasure to hear them play. On the night will be Al Fingers and Disorda on the decks laying down a strictly vinyl arsenal, combined with the charismatic style and fashion of the legendary Seanie T on the mic. ‘Demos’ looks like is a really interesting film narrated by Skyzoo, documenting the struggles of aspiring and up and coming artists. Whether you’re still grinding away in your mum’s basement, or if you’re getting mobbed at your local petrol station (or perhaps both, who knows) then I think you’ll find this extremely useful, or if nothing else, very entertaining watching. We’ll be looking forward to the full-length film!

The team DirtyTrix bring the second volume of TrixCity and Dirty D’s collaboration As always these dudes go in on a higher level than other average rappers. The tape also features the production skills of DJ Wickstar, and the vocal talents of Big J and CLC (although if you have read the title of this post you’d have already gathered that. As always it’s grimy kid realist hip-hop, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
