Love eh? Ain’t it a kick in the teeth? L.U.K.E has done a brilliant job of writing about a painful break-up without sounding like a cheesy Drake rip-off. Even rappers have feelings you know, shit Tupac had enough feelings for three people. Don’t sleep on this dude, he’s a very talented guy. Produced by Apollo Brown, with the beat taken from his album ‘The Left Gas Mask’.
The Break-Up Song will be featured on L.U.K.E’s fourthcoming mixtape, ‘Breath Of Fresh Air’ which wil be dropping in May. It’s a mixtape I’ll be very much looking forward to hearing in its entirety.
A straight soul jam from the duo Spectac and Amiri. Kids that love those soul samples, and backpackers alike will love this one. Actually to be honest, most kids will love this. This is straight up, sneaker-wearing, hat-crooking, Montana-spray-can-holding hip-hop. Is that a good way to describe a song? Yes, because I say so. If you want to hear more from these guys, and support real artists, then have a read below and see how you can help out some starving artists.
“This new album is our finest work to date, but releasing the album on mp3 and compact disc is not enough. This album was meant to be heard on vinyl… and that’s where we need your help. PledgeMusic allows us to engage you in the process of manufacturing our new album Soul Beautiful on the very format it deserves. It all begins with you making a PLEDGE….
The new album, as well as our past albums, are available on CD as well as a limited edition 12×12 poster of the new album artwork. Every single one of you who pledge will receive an mp3 download of the new album as well. Even more, throughout the course of the campaign, we’ll be giving you access to exclusive music and videos.
So please help us reach our goal and spread our music as wide as we possibly can. Thank you for your support.”
A nice chilled, and introspective track from Mxllxvv and Pink Lip Bastuurd. If you’re a fan of J.Pinder, Jus Daze and Physical Graffiti then I think you’ll vibe to this one too.
Since Solo For Dolo’ album “Self Titled” has now been out a year, he has decided to hit you with one of his favourite cuts from it. “Asbury Rising” is a walk down memory lane of where he cut my teeth in the world of hip hop over a smooth instrumental provided by Maker.
You can get this song as well as the rest of the album “Self Titled” for just a dollar from bandcamp

Also be sure to check out the video for the Maker produced “Aerosol” which is also from “Self Titled”

After performing “Obliged” together in Atlanta,GA, Phene & Maffew Ragazino decided to give the west coast influenced record a proper visual push. The song was produced by Qwan and originally featured on Phene’s ‘God On A Greyhound’ project. Look out for new solo projects from both MC’s in the months to come…

Space Harrier is the recent release by Luton, UK based producer Starchild. It’s an interesting mix of chilled, and more energetic beats, but with an overall theme based around space and atmosphere (the name kind of gives it away right?). It verges on some electronic influenced vibes, but sense Starchild has a background in that genre too, it’s no surprise. Every track on the tape has electronic piano samples on them, which is quite an interesting little touch.
If you’e interested in ryhming over any of the beats from this tape, or his other previous ones then hit the man up and see if you can make a plan or two at: starcrazy.org

Number 4, 7, 32 honestly I have no idea what number we’re up to in this series from the Swerve and SYG camp, but as always a gem from these guys. (Well actually no, that’s a lie, this is number 5 I just checked the links. Silly me.)
“This Pay Day Series is rather simple, on the 1st you get a track from Swerve, on the 15th you get one from SYG. You could possibly get a joint record, or a video, or who knows.. a freestyle or whatever. What we do know, is it will be free, and it will always land on Pay Day.”
To peep the earlier pay day series check the links.
