Author Cipher JEWELS is a founder of the important Birmingham Hip-Hop group Moorish Delta 7 who throughout the 90s and 00s gathered much acclaim being lauded by the likes of Guru from GangStarr to Tim Westwood alike.
This influential reach to hundreds and thousands of British youths, naturally evolved into active engagement culminating in the establishment of the Sankofa Centre in Birmingham: a multi-purpose hub with music studios, classrooms, workshop spaces and offices. Cipher’s work for several years has engineered social outreach programs, skill-building classes, and accredited qualifications for so many youths, for whom it would not be an exaggeration to say that these activities were life saving.
Cipher’s successful experiences in vast areas of life such as the music industry, the corporate world, private security and even food outlets give his writing an authoritative and wisdom-enriched accessibility. In recent times, work has focused from Sankofa for more outreach programs with youth, liaising international diplomats and USA anti-gang workers to multi-generational Black History events.
