Here is the video to “MY TrutH”, the first of a series of short films, illustrating songs from Papillon’s coming album “Calligraphy”.
The movie “MY TrutH” was filmed on Super 8mm, to honor and enjoy the technology of the past. 8mm film offered a classic way to grasp the light and texture of a day in the Life of Papillon, through the old school magic of celluloid.
“Calligraphy” is Papillon’s second solo album (following “The Amber Dawn”). This new project ventures further into the mind of a human hybrid, trying to find inner balance. It begins to unveil the point of view of the Peanutbutterfly in his search for understanding a confusing Human culture.
From Paris to Detroit, from Africa to the Caribbean, Papillon, a mixed blood humanoid, continuously churns the content of this planet’s melted pot, to extract the finest Butta music.
Stay aware, as more is to come from the ButterSide (including guest appearances by human artists like Amp Fiddler, Mike Wird,Jamal Bufford a.k.a. Buff One, 2YS, David Walters, Daz-Ini, John Banzai, Kinesis and many, many more).
Los Angeles’ emcee ethemadassassin releases his new album Soul on Fire on 17th September, and has launched the video for his new single “Can’t Get Enough”, first premiered by The Rap Up.
Originally based in Greensboro NC, he came up through the rap battle scene there in the 90’s where his reputation for firebrand lyricism grew quickly before releasing two solo albums. His previous album in 2008, “Tomorrow Never Comes”, enjoyed international support from MTV Base UK, Flava TV, Hip Hop Connection, Rap Attack Lives and Rap Network Charts.
He moved to Cali to form the group Veteran Assassins with fellow NC artist Veteran Eye. They have toured the west coast with Project Blowed’s Kandi Cole and released two albums featuring international producers and artists.
Soul on Fire includes production from NC and Los Angeles, as well as the UK’s Sci Fi Stu and France’s Kyo Itachi. The mix of rock, reggae & soul samples combined with driving beats and turntablism is the perfect backdrop for E’s delivery and wordplay. The new single Cant Get Enough is ideal for this summer with its laid back classic soul flava
