B-1 (aka One) has been in the game since the early 90’s, but despite close ties to numerous well known rap artists and hip-hop luminaries his name remains relatively unknown to this day. Hailing from Queens, NY, B-1 gravitated towards hip-hop at a young age, influenced by his mother’s eclectic musical tastes as well as the nearby block parties and park jams.
Citing Kool G Rap and Lord Finesse as major influences in picking up a pen and becoming an MC, B-1 spent a long time honing his craft on the down low before being featured on two tracks on Kool G Rap’s 1995 album “4, 5, 6”, alongside close associate MF Grimm. However this wasn’t the first time for B-1 to work with one of his former idols as he already had the chance to record alongside Lord Finesse, Grimm and Freddie Foxxx in 1992, earning him a mention in the prestigious demo section of Rap Pages Magazine.
In the late 90’s, B-1 went on to become one of the first artists to sign a deal with Rawkus Records and released a handful of successful underground records, several of which featured collaborations with none other than Large Professor. In 2000 the very gifted Queens MC went quiet, but never stopped recording new music. It was already 2012 when B-1 finally made a dope comeback on the Beneficence collabo track, “Rulez To The Game (Remix)”, that also featured Harlem legend Herb McGruff.
Ill Adrenaline Records proudly presents a previously unreleased gem by B-1 & Large Professor entitled “Hands of Time” (available on 7″/cassette/digital). This track was recorded back in 1997 and supposed to be B-1’s first single on Rawkus. The “Brooklyn Side” of the 7″ contains a dope demo track by O.C. & Da Beatminerz.
Keep your eyes peeled for a B-1 full length album sometime next year on Ill Adrenaline Records!

Matthias aka “Mr 16 Bars” is a hip hop artist from Philadelphia, PA that has just released an independent album called the “Forgotten”. This album talks about his experience as a soldier trying to transition back into civilian life. This album also touches on the day to day struggle of growing up in the inner city of North Philly
Matthias was born in North Philadelphia in 1979. He is one of 10 siblings. Matthias graduated from Eastern University with a BA in marketing. In 2006 he enlisted in the US Army. He completed two tours in Iraq and was awarded two Army Accommodation medals in his support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. After his discharge Matthias began working on a hip hop album called “The Forgotten”, which is now available on Itunes, CdBaby, Amazon MP3, Google Store etc.
Matthias speaks on social issues ranging from his multiple deployments as a soldier to trying to deal with the hardships of reintegrating back into civilian life in a poor urban environment. He currently has 2 music videos, “Combat Stress” and “Popular” (See Below) which collectively have generated well over a hundred thousands views on YouTube. Matthias tells it like it was—and—is; by interweaving reality, smooth stylistic flow with beats that keep your head nodding. In his latest cd, “The Forgotten”, Matthias takes social awareness to another level as he speaks about his deployments as a soldier, and his experiences in day to day urban life.
With a sound comparable to artists such as Common, NAS, Mos Def, De La Soul, and Gangstarr, this is Straight up Hip Hop goodness

We got a piece of bi-lingual Hip Hop for you here with a verse from Knightstalker in English and a verse from Polish rapper Rafi. But Hip Hop can transcend language and with solid production laced with the turntablism skillz from DJ Soina you cant go wrong!
The song is taken from DJ Soina’s latest mixtape “Kreci Mnie Vinyl 2” (which means something like “Vinyl keeps me movin’ in Polish). The title “Słychać Nas Z Dala” translates into something like “You’ll recognize us” and describes exactly what the trio bring to the table: sophisticated boom bap rap including some dope scratching!
