Jinxsta JX – R.A.T.E Volume 1 (Rough Around The Edges) [Free D/L] @JinxstaJX

Sometimes all I really want to say is that is you don’t listen to this, then you’re stupid. Today is that day, so if you don’t listen nor enjoy this release from Jinxsta JX then consider yourself a dunce. I’m sorry but honestly I can’t even be bothered to sound unbiased when it comes to a few Bristol and South West England heads, and Jinxsta JX one of them. However since I truly believe it’s deserved then I’ll take the risk (risky bidness). It’s no secret we’re big time supporters of Abnoxshuz Entertainment over here, and that’s because they’ve yet to associate themselves with a dud. That’s the level.

Points added for the M.A.B, Twizzy and T1NY feature.

DJ MK – Bastard Breaks Vol 4 [Free Album D/L] @DJMK

DJ-MK-BASTARD-BREAKS-VOL-4-Mixtape

Mmmm. That’s the sound that should accompany you when the listening of this dope breaks release by Mr DJ MK (no he doesn’t have ‘Mr’ at the start of his name, I just thought it was nice). This is the record I wish they would play when I go out to 85% of the cluuuubs. Whilst it is a fantastic record for top-rocking, and breaking it also suits the less nimble footed amongst us. So much variation, good vibes, lovely scratches and well timed samples.

Side note: the next future Mrs Aimee that wishes to win my affections should take me to a place that plays DJ MK jams if she wants my full-time love. Safe.

Here’s a little more about the release from the man himself to give you a better idea of the samples used.

“Bastard Breaks is a series of Breaks Mixtapes i started doing in 1999. Chapter 4 of this mix tape has everything from the obscure to the slept on, from Soul to Library records, Jazz, Reggae, Disco, Latin, Electronic, World Music, 80’s Pop and much more! Some you will know, some you will not.
Showing you that Dope music comes from every different musical background you can think of. This mix was recorded all off vinyl, then imported into serato, and cut up by me in the mix! The only non record i used on this mix was a Edit of David Bowies “Lets Dance” which was taken from the original stems which I…. acquired somehow lol. Big up Big Al, Tom and Mr Thing!”

Dope Fantasy – Real Hip Hop [Video & Song D/L] @ItsDopeFantasy

Intelligent content, simplistic but well made video. This is all you need to get our full attention. This track is definitely the for the rapper’s rappers. Tricksta was right, East Coast and Midwest hip-hop will always be my favourite style I (Aimee) can’t deny it.

To buy the song itself for a few pence, check the Bandcamp link underneath the video.

Sadek – Skitzopoetic [Mixtape D/L] @MC_Skitzopoetic

Sadek_Skitzopoetic-front-large

This little gem was nestled somewhere between the million Pound Cake remixes, and super badman submissions. It still feels like an early offering from Sadek and I’d be interested to hear him spit over a really well established producer to accompany the talents of the DJs featured on the record. His content is interesting and whilst his style isn’t necessarily similarly to, the vocal tone really reminds me of Sulle J which should definitely be taken as a compliment.

To download his full mixtape follow the link.
The track “Throw Me A Line” where he basically screams the whole way through is by far the best!

Vicious - Warming Up

London rapper and OEM recording artist Vicious has been making serious waves ever since he dropped his debut mixtape ‘Warming Up’ late last year. Hosted by DJ Unique from the ‘Ghetts It In Gang’ the release features Tony D, Cons, TBear, Sir Smurf Lil, Grimlock, Locksmyth and more. Vicious has shared stages with the likes of BBC 1Xtra’s Charlie Sloth and UK rappers such as Micall Parknsun, Genesis Elijah and Kyza, as well as doing an emcee battle for Don’t Flop.

Earlier on this year we saw Vicious drop a video to his single ‘No Fool’ which features Raggo Zulu Rebel which was well received by Hip-Hop fans. Now he’s back with a new video to his track ‘Til I Hit A Milli’ which has already been championed and supported by GrimeDaily.com and SpiffTV.com. Vicious is on his grind hard and is now currently working on second mixtape release which will drop with the UK’s longest running mixtape series UK Runnings and will be hosted by Tricksta.
