Araless is a Seattle hip hop artist; co-founder of the artist collective Black Magic Noize and the beatmaker collective Filthy Fingers United. He interweaves sociopolitical, counter cultural commentary with grimy boom bap productions of his own. You can feel his sense of urgency, prompting the audience to deconstruct their social conditioning. The underlying tone implies the necessity for revolutionary action in a society built on domination, division, and predatory practices.
‘Proletariat Rock’ is the culmination of 5 years of political education and activism. Each track represents a new perspective on the subjects of race and class in the heart of a colonial empire. Ra Scion (Common Market) says “That boy Araless is a master-scribe level. pen game extraordinary; flow is phenomenal”, and LA legend Abstract Rude calls it “dope deep and unique”.
