Danny Spice Feat. Craig G – King Of The Beat (Carry On Going Records) Review

Carry On Going Records bring you this drenched funk boom bap 7” vinyl and MP3 that is produced by Danny Spice and features Craig G from the legendary Juice Crew from New York. The beat is so sick and Craig G drops gems with the beats smackin’ from the off. This track is a limited edition ‘individually hand numbered’ 300 pressing on 7inch vinyl as well as being released on iTunes. This will definitely appeal to anybody who loves production from Pete Rock, J Dilla, Premo and Showbiz. It defiantly has a sound that maybe you wouldn’t believe a UK producer would be making. It’s reminiscent of those Golden era classics but it has that original and current vibe to it. Full of funk and soul this groove is a must for real Hip-Hop heads.

Ghost67 – Angel Of Sin (Review)

Don’t you just love UK Hip-Hop when it really is good?! Well here’s more good stuff from an artist who has featured on tracks that have been released in UK, USA, Canada, Germany, Holland and France. This is actually the first official single from his forthcoming album entitled ‘Footsteps Of An Angel of Sin’ and what a corker it is too. It reminds of how Hip-Hop used to be, without it meaning it sounds old. It’s pure with some real lyricism and Ghost67 goes in nice with a subtle flow that is delivered so you can understand very word. The song has a soulful beat and good vibe. The single is out now on iTunes and Amazon and the forthcoming album ‘Footsteps Of An Angel of Sin’ features Celph Titled, Blade, Mr CRF. Wordsmiff and Face of So Solid Crew. This is Hip-Hop for real heads.

Evidence – Cats and Dogs (Review)

Posted by hiphoplifeandtimes on September 25, 2011
Posted in: Reviews. Leave a comment

Graffiti artist turned hip-hop artist, rapper, producer, and member of the super sick rap group Dilated Peoples, Evidence is that West Coast rapper who always delivers. Here on his number he has enlisted the help of some heavy wait producers with the legendary Alchemist turning out a barrage of killers as well as Evidence himself coming good. Other beats come from Sid Roams, DJ Premier, DJ Babu, Rahki, Daniel “Danny Keyz” Tannenbaum, Twiz The Beat Pro and Charli Brown. Its got the nod factor all the way through and some from the first cut ‘The Liner Notes’ featuring Aloe Blacc you know this album is good food. Evidence holds his own on ‘The Red Carpet’ featuring Raekwon & Ras Kass, although one of my favourite tracks has to be ‘Where You Come From?’ which features Rakaa, Lil’ Fame from Group Home & Termanology. Other contributions come from Roc Marciano, Prodigy, Slug, Aesop Rock, Krondon and Fashawn although this isn’t an album that relies on features. It’s also worth point out that there is no track 13 on the album, call Evidence superstitious or what? It’s a solid album and his most cohesive solo album to date. Make sure you go and cop this.

Tracklist:

01. The Liner Notes (feat. Aloe Blacc)
02. Strangers
03. The Red Carpet (feat. Raekwon & Ras Kass)
04. It Wasn’t Me

06. You
07. God Bless That Man (Interlude)
08. Fame (feat. Roc Marciano & Prodigy)
09. James Hendrix (Evidence & The Alchemist as Step Brothers )
10. Late For The Sky (feat. Slug & Aesop Rock)
11. Crash
12. Where You Come From? (feat. Rakaa, Lil’ Fame & Termanology)
13. …
14. To Be Continued…
15. Falling Down
16. Well Runs Dry (feat. Krondon)
