Just in case you forgot hip-hop isn’t just about loud shouty cats talking fast into a microphone…For all those unable to process sarcasm that part was a joke. Anyway peep this very interesting video with Amjad from the legendary Seven Dollars Crew talk about the past, present and future of the bboy scene. We should have an interview with Darren Fordy from the Battle Holex Crew very soon, I’m just trying to grab that man on Skype.
Educate son!

This being Remembrance Day I thought this track by Diligent Fingers and Old Owl was very apt. You can download the whole album here
From a personal stand point I am generally offended when the media and government try to use the memories of my family members who fought in both WW1 and WW2 to stir up blind patriotism and reasons to follow this horrible government. Instead of coming out with ignorant phrases like “support our troops or get out of my country” use your brain. Remember the sacrifices made fighting oppression and brutality in WW2 were not done so you could carry on the same ignorance, racism, blindness, and love of a oppressive state that they were trying to destroy. Honor their memory and those fighting overseas by thinking for yourself and fighting oppression wherever it appears, be it 1000 miles away of here at home.
Aimee
Rest in peace my Great-grand pops, Granduncles and all who fought in WW1 on both sides. Come home safely to my friends currently serving.

Making its world premiere as the 14th entry in The DJBooth andEvent Electronics’ 20/20 Music Series, this newly-released single finds the Cali spitter admonishing listeners against letting the lust for luxury goods get the better of their ethical principles. Frequent collaborator Ro Blvd does his thing on the production tip, crafting a heavily syncopated synth-percussion groove to back the U-N-I alum as he recounts how two enterprising (and girl-crazy) youths’ scheme to “dress high-end off of credit-card scams” backfired when the boys in blue caught wind of their con. A sage cautionary tale and a dope record to boot, this joint is exclusive to the 20/20 Music Series. Fans can look forward to further DJBooth-exclusive entries throughout the remainder of November.
Mm mmm fancy peeping a few new videos and checking out a mixtape? Errr of course you do that’s why you’re here. Have a gander of the videos then zoom down to the bottom to get your grubby paws on some free goodness. We’re too good to you.
“Reinventing’ is the new release from North West London Grime & Hip-Hop artist Razor. Following up from last years mixtape ‘Venting’, Razor once again drops his trademark precision flow over some diverse production dropping introspective narratives with a thoughtfulness sometimes forgotten in the music, while balancing out the mixtape with more kinetic tunes also. Developing sonically and conceptually from his earlier material, ‘Reinventing’ sees Razor dominating new soundscapes in addition to his Grime background; from Dubstep to Rock to straight up Hip-Hop, assisted by artists like Example and Foz Tee. This release shows that Razor is an artist with the skills and the determination to make noise in the music industry. ‘Reinventing’ includes the video track ‘Sci-Fi’, which has already included in Channel AKA’s Hoodtube playlist, as well as hooking up with Ruthless Records, home in the past to such artists as Giggs, K Koke and many more.
‘Reinventing’ comes after a year of extensive performing, networking, distributing and self promotion which has led to him being featured in magazines such as UKB and Kix, as well as performing at events alongside artists such as Don Strapzy (Dru Blu) Dotstar, Gfrsh and many more. Recently Razor also emerged as the winner of the ‘In It To Win It’ rap competition, going up against artists like English Frank, Pyrelli and Jammin leading to Razor being filmed for a video for Link Up TV. Since then Razor has been featured on the independent DVD release ‘The Hoods Got Talent’ alongside the likes of SBTV’s Jamal Edwards, Gordan Mac founder of Kiss FM, Ace & Vis from BBC 1Xtra and many more.”

I was gonna write up a little introduction to the Fdot1, but Tricksta has pretty much already said all that needs to be said. I will however add that this dude is a super producer. Not in the lame buzz-word sense, in the sense that this dude is like SUPERMAN. He does everything and works with everyone. Check out the write up and videos below and you’ll see what I mean.
“If you’ve ever seen him or heard him you’ll know Fdot1 is a very versatile artist and producer. He is more than just Hip Hop. Fdot1’s Money MusicK album rolls from hard hitting Hip Hop, to Grime, to soulful love songs, to raunchy Bashment (guaranteed to make you win’ up ya wais’) and back to tongue-twisting boom bap Hip Hop. Many have likened his flows to the Busta Rhymes, a great honour indeed. He has worked as a Producer for the likes of Durrty Goodz, Sizzla, Mike GLC, Baker (Trouble) and Giggs. As an artist he has performed with Ms Dynamite, Immortal Technique, Lil’ Wayne and Omarion and toured with De La Soul. This summer you could have seen him on the live circuit in and around London and Amsterdam at events like ILUVLIVE, Charlie Sloth’s Showcase, Speakers Corner and on the main stage at London’s biggest indoor festival, Live Fest at the O2″

Initially when the intro beat kicked in I was thinking “Tricks why did you send me this?”, but being the loving soul I am I gave it a chance past the first 20 seconds. And that’s exactly you need to do! This song is so good it’s been on repeat since I started listening it! Everything about this track is gold. Don’t be a music Nazi, ’cause no one likes Nazis do they? Yeah exactly so listen. It’s not exactly going to change the state of the economy but it’s a fun pop song.
