This is the first video from the De Facto entertainment camp. With De Facto CEO Stealf on the boards and Mista Flix droppin the bars the video was shot in a day and takes you behind the scenes of De Facto as they bring to life visually the processes behind making the track.

The funniest thing about this video is Fashawn is high as a kite, yet he still has better flow than 100% of the TV rappers out there. Ten points for the Thrasher sweater too.

What’s cooler than hip-hop and comic books? Errr NUFFIN. Give Murs ALLL YAAAAALL MONEY!
From pioneering the independent rap hustle to starting his own festival, Cali emcee Murs has always been a trailblazer. To that end, he proudly presents Yumiko: Curse Of The Merch Girl, a brand new album and graphic novel available exclusively through Kickstarter. The album and novel unite to tell the story of Yumi Morales, a girl living the fabled tour life working the merchandise table for her boyfriend Dominick’s band Murder Acts. The 124-page graphic novel is illustrated by Jose Garcia, written by Josh Blaylock and the ten-song album – whose lyrics are printed in their entirety throughout the novel – is produced entirely by DJ Foundation. Yumiko is available only via the project’s Kickstarter page, where a range of different pledge options will get you everything from the novel and CD to exclusive apparel, custom download cards illustrated by David Mack and Jim Mahfood, and a personal thank-you note and Twitter follow from Murs. Followed by the release of the album and book, an animated music video will officially be unveiled at Murs’ party during the Comic-Con convention in San Diego. “Yumiko is hip hop and comics done correctly,” says Murs of the project. “Comics have always been a huge inspiration to me. And having the chance to publish my own comic is truly an honor. Working with my partners to create this book was a lot of fun and we are looking forward to making our dream a reality with the help of the fans.”

“Straight up from the steaming streets of the Big Apple, a young, ambitious rapper called Crosby just released his digital album “New York Posterboy” online, available through the website http://www.NewYorkPosterboy.com. The budding artist, also known alternatively as Crosmopolitan and Clockwork Cros, was born in Bellevue to a noted multidisciplinary artist couple from the East Village. From an early age, Crosby became a public figure; he appeared in promo breaks for MTV, fashion photographs by Steven Klein and Tom Munroe and spreads in L’Uomo Vogue, Soma and Pop; posters for the Winter X-Games; music videos by Spike Jonez, Jim Spring, Micheal Gondry and R. Kern and an album cover for Cop Shoot Cop’s “Ask Questions Later”. He interned at Def Jam, worked at Jeffrey Dietch Projects and for 5 years Crosby produced the multi-artist showcase Hip Hop Howl for the Howl! Festival in the East Village, while also bringing that troupe to the SXSW Festival 3 years running. Currently, Crosby directs music videos for his company Photo-POW and is also the visual artist behind all the cover art and web design for Swizz Beatz’ weekly series Monster Mondays.
Crosby has built a vast reservoir of musical material in collaboration with a host of emerging local talent and is now poised to take Gotham by storm with a series of solo album releases, one per month for the next several months, of which “New York Posterboy” is the first. The record is unified by a series of sketches placed within none other than the newsroom of Murdoch’s flagship and New York’s most popular newpaper, the Post, as a cub reporter that reminds me of my younger self convinces his editor to allow him to break the story of Crosby’s splash into the NYC music biz. Using industry beats and a wide range of sampled sounds, Crosby’s aural montages express postmodern sensory overload and the funky syncopation of the life of a native New Yorker. Songs such as “The Wait is Ova”, “Born in the City” and “Museum Music” show a hip intensity and cultural savvy in his poetry and delivery. Though this is a Hip Hop mixtape, it reminds this pundit of the highly entertaining, hyperkinetic sound of one of his favorite rock records from back in the day: The Mothers of Invention’s “Freak Out.” His future releases promise to be even more eclectic and innovative.”
For those of you out there that didn’t cop Fashawn’s 2009 release ‘Boy Meets World’ (produced by the man Exile no less!), then you might not be aware of how awesome this dude is. That’s okay though ’cause here he is along with the mighty Planet Asia and Willie The Kid in a nice free track about less than talented MCs. No beefs, just schooling.
Taken from Planet Asia’s forth coming record ‘Black Belt Theatre’. Hoohooo if that ain’t a cool album cover then I don’t know what is.
