Before you listen to this I want you to know how the editing of number 5 podcast beat me down. I don’t know why the program I was using to edit it was not happy with me, but suffice to say instead of taking a few hours to cut it up; it took TWO Days.
Anyway moaning aside, this is our 5th podcast featuring our final part of our interview with UK-based promotor/producer Tricksta, CEO and owner of Park Street PR. In this part he talks about how he can’t understand why some people ‘don’t listen to music’, his favourite album and artist, and bigs up our next interviewee Big Dutty Deeze, and tells us how he’s a beat-eating monster (that’s next podcast, and trust me our man gives us a really interesting look into his life, music and general prospective).
As well as the second part of the Tricksta interview Matt and I also chose our top 5 UK artists, since last podcast we picked our top U.S it only made sense.
You may note we’re not as shouty or hype as usual, but that’s because we were recording late at night in my house, and my mum had to be in work early the next day. The life of a hip-hop gangsta. Matt also rages about Charlie Sloth, I rage about education in the quietest voice I can, and we both agree that Task Force’s track ‘Grafdabusup’ is much better than the original Pharoahe Monch’s.
As always, enjoy and please share around.
Peace, Aimée.

TBLESS follows up his debut single REBIRTH with the new track NINE TO FIVE featuring RAS STAR. Both tracks will feature on the upcoming album THE SECOND COMING. Really feeling what this rapper is about…
The track NINE TO FIVE is a gritty depiction of the everyday struggle to make ends meet while still trying to pursue your dreams. A theme that has become very relevant in these difficult economic times, for that reason the track is available for free download here:
TBLESS shatters any pre-conceptions of the clichéd glamorous lifestyle of other rappers and paints a vivid picture of the desperation and difficult choices people face when their hard work just isn’t paying off and they feel like they’re hitting a dead end. TBLESS elaborates on the origins of the track by saying, “People ask me how I relax when I’m not working on my music, the fact is I don’t. I work my nine to five job to fund my music that’s the reality that people fail to see. I have to work in order to keep putting this music out, it’s hard to keep a balance”.

Here is the video for “Dumb it Down.” first single off of the John Givez EP,“Mind Over Matter.” The EP is unique, defying conventional musical categorization by moving effortlessly between hip-hop, R&B and neo-soul.
Givez drew upon his own personal experience for the EP’s inspiration, “I wanted to explore what happens when your heart belongs to Jesus, but your mind is still in what seems to be chains.” Givez feels strongly that there are many others who can relate to that tension, “I’m not saying I’ve got the answer; this is just the soundtrack to the struggle, for the struggle.”
If there is one thing with which Givez faces little struggle, it is the creation of music, “John is a great rapper, great singer, he can lead worship, and is one of the most humble and teachable young men I’ve ever worked with,” said Ruslan, who is an MC and President of Kings Dream Entertainment.
Givez and Ruslan began working together on various projects for theBREAX. Those projects gave Givez an opportunity to hone his skills and explore his musical tastes and talents. “John is a huge asset to Kings Dream, having worked with us for several years now on various BREAX projects. He continues working hard in and out of the studio,” said Ruslan.
The quality of Givez’ work inside the studio is evident throughout the 11 tracks and 2 bonus tracks on “Mind Over Matter,” available as a free download at www.MindOverMatterEP.com
Givez is able to translate his work ethic and talent outside the studio, as well. Added Ruslan, “He’s a pillar in his community when it comes to building bridges with the non-churched and is making an impact that is far deeper than music.”
Ruslan summed up his feelings about “Mind Over Matter” and John Givez very clearly, “I’m excited and humbled to be a part of this process. We are all very excited for what the future holds for him and Kings Dream.”
If the work they’ve already done together is any indication, the future looks very bright.
