Tony K is an Iraqi-born Hip Hop artist out of Detroit, ‘Welcome to Baghdad’ is his latest song and music video detailing the struggles of living in Iraq. Not very long ago in Iraq a kid was executed for listening to Hip Hop so for Tony K to be a voice for that region using a banned form of music is something rare.

“When I wrote the track I had a lot of built up angst that I felt needed to be poured out,” he says about the track. “I’ve felt a chip on my shoulder my whole life, most of the time it’s something I created (the “enemy” of course symbolic of pride) in order to feed myself fuel to work harder. Nevertheless, if respect wasn’t given, this song was evoking my sentiment that it be taken/earned one way or another. Far as the video goes….our main goal was to avoid doing anything like the first 360° we did. To us, it’s all about growth and it would be lame to repeat the same formula. Was a super fun shoot, albeit most people laughing at me I’m sure as I walked through Oakland streets strapped with a stick/device that held the 7 Gopros.”
Disc 1 of ‘egO anD The eneMy’ is due January 27th, 2017.
After over a year spent in a slight creative slump in a crumbling terraced house in Tottenham, Jam Baxter rang his label boss while heavily intoxicated to request they fly him to Bangkok forthwith, to rejoin forces with ‘…so we ate them whole’ producer and engineer, Chemo. After an initial period of understandable hesitancy, the flights were booked and Baxter found himself suddenly regurgitated from the belly of a Jet Airliner into the magical and surreal surroundings of ‘Mansion 38’.
It seems right that Jam Baxter’s two favourite tracks from the forthcoming ‘Mansion 38’ album, ‘Teeth Marks’ & ‘Soi 36’ be combined into a singular item, a limited edition hand numbered seven inch vinyl.

New video from Masta Ace, “Mathematics” is taken from the legendary emcee’s newest album ‘The Falling Season’ (M3 Records/HHV) and is produced by Kic Beats. Not just a song title, the lyrics drop a lot of mathematical terms as metaphors of the emcee’s philosophy of life and hip hop. Reflective of the content the video directed by Lucrative Sight includes images of Black mathematicians of note throughout history.
The Falling Season (entirely produced by Kic Beats) is a concept piece centered on Masta Ace’s years at Sheepshead Bay High School in the early 80’s. Album guests include Chuck D (Public Enemy), Cormega, A.G, Your Old Droog, Torae, Wordsworth, Stricklin, The World’s Famous Supreme Team and Queen Herawin.
