Styles P is one of the hardest emcees to ever to touch a microphone, a founding member of The LOX / D-Block and, in recent years, one of hip-hop’s most prolific solo artists. Scram Jones is a Grammy-nominated producer who has worked with the likes of Mariah Carey, Fat Joe, Lloyd Banks, Dipset, Raekwon, The Clipse, and many more. Now, Styles and Scram are joining forces for the new album Float, to be released on the newly relaunched High Times Records just in time for 4/20.
Unlike some collaborations these days, Float came about naturally. “I had sent a beat that Styles liked, and he came through to my studio to finish it,” explains Scram. “He ended up jumping on four other beats that days and another four the next day. After eight records, High Times reached out about putting out a project.” While both artists have had extensive careers, releasing an album with High Times holds special significance. “It’s definitely an honor for two hip-hop stoners,” says Scram. “High Times is a world famous brand and crosses all cultures and genres of music.”
As for the music, fans already know what to expect from these two artists. “Incredible lyrics and incredible beats,” says Styles. With guest appearances from Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, N.O.R.E., and Raekwon, it’s also an unapologetically East Coast affair. As Scram puts it: “The whole project is some classic New York hip hop.”

Soloman Gehazi is an up & coming rapper from Wolverhampton, UK who has just dropped his brand new twenty track free download entitled ‘Street Gospel Mixtape’. Already getting championed by some of the leading blogs in the UK, this explosive release is a must for any Boom Bap underground Hip-Hop fan. Featuring production from Divine Arkatek, Beat Busta & D7 and features from Webster, D7, Jae Sosa, The Praying Mantis, Too Classical, Radical and many more, this is a project you need to get up. This is real Hip-Hop music for real heads.
Born and raised in Wolverhampton, Soloman Gehazi has been crafting his art since his early teens being brought up in a multi-racial family; he draws from real life experiences while always remaining conscious and positive in his songs. He was instantly hooked on Hip-Hop after being introduced to it at the age of eleven when he started listening to Cypress Hill, Busta Rhymes, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G and many more. As he matured he found peace when he found God and a few years ago started to record music with a more spiritual & uplifting vibe.
In 2012 he created a buzz with his album ‘Knowledge Lessons’ which led to him hooking up with D7, a producer & rapper from South London. The two got their heads together and they decided to start independent record label Remnant Muzic. Since then he has dropped three music videos, featured on releases from D7, Matt D, Shugmonkey and more, as well as working with various producers from the UK and overseas. There is no doubting with sharp punchlines, excellent delivery, precision flows, positive messages and vibrations, there is no stopping Soloman Gehazi. Its time you got to know!

Well if you’re lucky enough to be reading this post its taken me an hour to post it from my phone, so I hope its legible.
Regular followers of the site may have noticed in recent weeks that we have not been posting to the standards you have come to expect from us. Let me briefly explaing why…..
Following major leg surgery 6/7 weeks, I (Stix) have suffered some serious complications in my recovery, and my main priority is too get well as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately this has also coincided with Aimee having to work 14 hour shifts for her job that pays her bills. I am trying my best to keep the site ticking over, as I am able to share videos from my phone but not much else. So, I apologise for the lack of info and download links accompanying the posts.
Thank you to everyone for their kind words, understanding and most importantly showing patience with us over this rocky last couple of weeks.
We hope to be repping the music we all love, to the standards you’ve come to expect from us in the near future.
As Planet Asia returns from his trip to Africa, we thought it fitting to release the track “Thyself.” Since knowledge and wisdom produces understanding, Gensu Dean brought in some heavyweight friends, David Banner & Tragedy Khadafi, to drop jewels on listeners. Let Dean’s mystic production draw you into the zone, so that you can acknowledge the Gods speech. Know thyself.
“Kick Snare And An Idea Part 2” is out on 10th June on Tru Thoughts. The second of two singles by Ty under the “Kick Snare And An Idea EP” banner, this package brings two more new songs. It closely follows “Part 1”, which made a widespread impact in April, including Official BBC 6Music Playlisting and MTV Base Playlisting for lead cut “Like You Never”, in-depth interviews with DJ 279 (Choice FM) and Huey Morgan (BBC 6Music), and repeat airplay from MistaJam (BBC 1Xtra) and Charlie Sloth (1Xtra), among heavy media support.
“Let’s Start”; the last single announced Ty’s bold intentions, and this track continues the proactive, frank and forward-looking message that has captured the public’s attention. The theme is set over a unique groove, a built-up arrangement that is neither fast nor slow, with cuts provided by Harry Love. In Ty’s words, the lyrics are “hopeful yet firm….There is a change in music coming, and this song heralds that change. We want substance over empty pop rhetoric and we want to have fun”. The video, which features an inspirational lone b-girl dancer, Teneisha Bonner, has premiered with an exclusive on MTV Base and will launch online imminently.
The second track, “Well Well Well” is a tribal 4-to-the-floor musical experiment; out-there inventive, yet with a supremely catchy, breezy feel. Collaborators on this exciting track include drummer Richard Spaven (Flying Lotus/4Hero/Jose James/Cinematic Orchestra), Joy Jones on co-vocals and Jason Yarde (Manu Dibango/Plan B) on horns. “It’s me breaking from the norm”, says Ty; “One Verse, One Message Overall, One Human Race.”
The release will also feature a set of killer remixes, to be announced, as well as Instrumentals and A Cappellas.
