Ne’Astra Music is proud to announce the release of Evolution, the new Slum Village album. Evolution is the long-anticipated release coming on the heels of the critically acclaimed mix tapes “Dirty Slums” and “Dirty Slums 2.” This album features new music from founding member T3 along with Young RJ and Illa J.
The meaning of Evolution can be described as “a continuous change to a higher, more complex or better state” and that is exactly what Slum Village has ascribed to with their music over the years, culminating with this new album. The Evolution of Slum Village continues with a reinvigorated energy, as founding member T3 holds down the legacy along with the Grammy-nominated producer Young RJ as well as young prodigy Illa J at his side.
Evolution also includes the talents and skills of Havoc (Mobb Deep), Raheem Devaughn, Jazzy Jeff and Rapper Big Pooh, amongst others. The album was produced by T3, Young RJ and FOCUS.

Growing up in the streets of Brixton, South London. Recording artist and performer 72thesign grew up as a first generation Hip-Hop head. Spending his youth being influenced by Hip-Hop culture in London’s covent Garden around crews such as London Allstars and Live To Break. His passion for Hip-Hop was second to none and it wasn’t long before he picked he the pen and started writing rhymes. Back in the 1990’s after a successful hip hop dance tour with BAD To The Bone and featured on a few underground projects.
After a break 72thesign is back with a full catalogue of sharp darts and a new raw energy that can be felt in every punch-line. With a style that pays homage to the real essence of rap music, 72thesign is aiming to be the pinnacle of a new sound that is probably best described as retro Hip-Hop with a current and relevant flavour. His focus is on the science of verbal delivery, lyrics, metaphors rather than the current ‘trap’ or ‘gangster’ styles. This is real Hip-Hop, this is 72thesign.
72thesign has been hard on his grind playing live shows and open mics and has featured on numerous mixtapes including 7th sign presents “the fieldz of terror” as well as features on US albums from Verbal Godz from Indiana, Paul Lipsey from New York and Rediculus from Chicago. Now with his full official debut release ‘Sign Language EP’, things look bright as he already has a further two releases planned to drop in 2013 and is he is currently number one on the Reverb Nation chart for hip hop in Cambridgeshire/Peterborough.

BBoys Battle Against Cancer (BBBAC) is a Midlands based integrated event project consisting of graffiti art exhibitions, workshops, discussion groups and a Break Dance exhibition Battle. Bboys Battle Against Cancer is the brainchild of Bgirl Bubbles, the UKs first recognised Bgirl dance performer who began on the scene in the early 1980’s and continues over thirty years later to inspire thousands of young people across the globe in Bboy and hip hop dance styles.
This 3 day hip hop extravaganza is taking place from 25th-27th of July 2013 in Wolverhampton City Centre and has been created to raise funds for Cancer charities in the UK. Many of us have been affected by Cancer either directly or indirectly and we believe it is crucial to champion the groundbreaking research of these charities, as well as the invaluable treatment and much needed support that they provide for cancer sufferers and their loved ones. So the organisers thought – what better way to do it than through the four elements of hip hop?!
What happens over the 3 days at BBBAC?
A feast of hip hop experiences with Bboy dance workshops, live DJs, Graffiti exhibitions, discussion sessions, performances and battles/competitions. The event is in place to raise funds and awareness for the charities, as well as inspire people both young and old to be a part of a positive movement where they are encouraged to create art using the four elements of Hip Hop!
Workshops will be available for dancers of all levels, from undercover bedroom rockers to global floor burners and will be taught by local and international Bboy names.
Discussions will allow everybody (you included!) to take take part in talks with hip hop pioneers and discuss/debate on hot Hip Hop and Bboy topics
Competing Bboy crews can select a Cancer charity to battle for, and win the chance to award their chosen charity with the BBBAC prize fund!
Organisers are already excited to welcome legendary and pioneering Bboys and Bgirls from around the world including:
Trac 2
Pop Master Fable
The Bronx Boys Rocking Crew
London NYCB
Bboy Mouse
…with more names being added daily to this list, everyone involved is overwhelmed with the number of inspirational global hip hop contributors who are all kindly lending their support to this event!

This is an event that I hold very close to my heart as I Lost my Dad to Cancer almost two years ago now. Not many people know this but Hip Hop Life and Times was set up in the weeks leading up to my Dad passing. I was working for another site, when the owner decided to sell it, I offered to continue running it but the owner was just out for the cash and It was my Dad and Tricksta who had the belief in me that I could make HHL&T a success.
I was hoping to be at the event myself but following complications from my Surgery I’ve been told I will not be well enough to travel. So I will be showing my support for this event in any way I can here on HHL&T and would be greatful if as many of you as possible could make a donation or attend the event over one of the three days.
