Legendary Graffiti Artist RISK delivers Limited Edition Hand Painted 12” Vinyl. His first pick for collaboration in what will become a new series of limited edition art pieces is with his Los Angeles cohorts Dilated Peoples. RISK has created 50 limited edition hand painted copies of the 12” vinyl version of “Directors of Photography”, which is the most recent release of Hip Hop trailblazers Dilated Peoples released on Rhymesayers Entertainment.
Each of the 50 records are a totally unique visual experience that features a hand painted design that was created by RISK. Each piece of vinyl will come framed with a certificate of authenticity and be signed and numbered by both RISK and the members of Dilated Peoples. “Dilated Peoples was always special to me because I grew up with those guys. We didn’t hang out all the time but we were running around in the same scene. They are family,” said RISK. “Years later, we often crossed paths and I was always intrigued and happy to see my peers progressing and pushing further. It’s like that’s what we did, and it’s always inspiring to watch them push the boundaries!”
“Risk is one of the best ever as far as style and consistency and he is razor sharp with his technique. We all came up in the same L.A. Graffiti circles, and it has been a trip to see how we’ve all grown and continue to flourish,” said Rakaa from Dilated Peoples. “It is an honor to collaborate with him on these limited edition pieces. These are not prints — these are original works of art born in pure inspiration.”

The New Big Pun EP slated for release on Dec 23 gained so much attention that due to Copyright legalities from the original cover of the EP Hip Hop producer Domingo had to go back and get the ep cover re worked and we gotta say that MAN!!! The graphics team killed it. This new amazing cover depicts Big Pun shattering dreams and records.. Maybe even a Big Pun comic in the works for the future?

Our HHLAT brother Adam aka Nephilim was booked to perform at Tricksta’s Beats & Bars in Wolverhampton during November. While he was there he filmed a few freestyle sessions at Tricksta’s crib before the evening got underway. Dope Chicago producer Rediculus was over from the States for a Live beat showcase at the event and launching his Platformz App, so beforehand a few of the emcees on the line up jumped on a few of Rediculus’ beats and Adam captured what went down!

The Regiment have teamed up with graphic designer RF3RD to create a new project which merges 2 of the 5 elements of Hip Hop: MCing and Graffiti. The new project, ‘S.O.U.L. (Sound Of Us Living)’ , is one of the first to utilize the new platform — HiPNOTT Certified , an outlet of HiPNOTT which allows them to showcase specific brands represented or sponsored by the label. HiPNOTT Certified, over the coming months, will bond with and promote individuals/brands within the industry such as graphic artists, DJs, videographers, and clothing designers. It allows us to focus on other aspects of the industry and push the HiPNOTT brand even further.
Every Friday at the beginning of each month, The Regiment will release a track from S.O.U.L. along with original artwork from RF3RD . Here’s the fourth cut, “Let’s Begin” , produced by Sinitus Tempo.

After the success of ‘The King Amongst Thieves’ and this years ‘Incredible’ featuring Ugly Ducklings Dizzy Dustin, Danny hit the crates hard and got straight back into the studio and started work on ‘Live At The Throwdown’, a tribute to a night he used to host and a classic film. He recruited some of his favourite emcees for the project including some of his past collaborators to make this his best work to date, sample and drum heavy. Emskee (Good People / Rampagers) features on the playout cut ‘Never Popcorn’, he reunites with Oxygen (Soundsci, Spox PHD) on ‘Code Red’, Audessey (Soundsci / Jack Jones) and Mr Thing on ‘Night Stalkers. He’s assembled an all star cast for the posse cut ‘Art Of War’ (Emskee, Brand Nubian’s Sadat X, Finsta and the UK’s Cappo). The EP is rounded off with QNC’s tribute ‘Do It For The DJ’s’ featuring Mr Thing.
Artwork was handled by Mr Krum so you know it looks fresh. The Vinyl features 2 exclusive instrumentals not on the digital release and was mastered by Simon at The Exchange with the finished records pressed at The Vinyl Factory to ensure it sounds as dope as possible, finished in heavyweight full colour, hand numbered and stickered sleeves.
