Legendz Of Doom is the latest project from DOOM/Terrortry (Yes, yes that’s some MF Doom). It’s a catchy as fuck record, and the speedy flow works so well with the upbeat production. The mixing and scratches are so tasty, and on this sunny day it makes everything just that little bit nicer. The sound’s got so much New York vibe to it, and you’ll get that as soon as you hear it I guarantee. It’s pretty reminiscent in places, of Jeru Tha Damaja. Apparently this grew out of the team deciding to make a single, but having so many ideas they went for a complete album. Good job they did.
Go take a listen for yourselves.
I said it was free because the whole thing is only going for 40 British pence (that’s like 25 Yankee cents boooy). Shiit I found 20 pence on my way home, you could pick the rest up from behind your sofa.
‘Underground Kingz’ is the new joint from emcee Oliver Sudden with beats by Ill Move Sporadic. The track is taken from the upcoming album ‘WASTE NOT WANT NOT’ out mid May.

In keeping with the graffiti theme from yesterday. Here’s the trailer to the new film documenting the rise of graffiti, from it’s smallest beginnings starting with ‘Taki 183’, and going all the way up to the present day. The film’s shot by Roger Gastman, the producer of Banksy’s ‘Exit Through the Gift Shop’. Whether you’re a writer or not, if you’re a hip-hop head then I suggest you try and catch this when it comes out.
Shouts to Menace for making me aware of this.
Fresh from the deepest darkest Northern borders, come Leeds based ‘Defenders Of Style. I first heard DOS back in July of 2011 when they put out the video for ‘Fish In A Barrel’, and instant head nodder track. Their style is heavy in every sense, production, beats and lyrically. Dirty Sterling is the latest release from these guys, and “is a 14 track mixtape spawned from the underbelly of the economic slump”. Sounds about right, in keeping with the roots of hip-hop eh?
Get excited and get to clicking.
The mixtape was produced, recorded and mastered by Jack Danz. All turntablism on the tape was done by DJ Sirplus.
Check this New joint from Young Dirty Bastard, “House” is produced by Money Mark.

I might lose some steez credentials for this, but I’ve never really listened to Stryfe before. Yeah, yeah and I write for an underground hip-hop site. For SHAME. Well I’m sorry but here’s a video mash-up of Stryfe at SXSW performing his song ‘Shells’. I’m sorry I slept on him on for so long.
If like me you too had been living under a rock and the video below gives you a taste for some more, have a loook at the links and get some more Stryfe.
