New album “The Goondox” by PMD, Sean Strange & Snowgoons out today 9th of april!
This new powerhouse group consisting of Parish “PMD” Smith of the world famous EPMD, Sean Strange & Snowgoons was formed back in 2011 from what started as a friendly tour in Europe with the three independently run movements.
Sean & PMD’s relationship dating back to 2003 when they recorded their first record together continued to develop as they performed on some shows together over the years and teamed up for a song featured on a track for Sean’s 2010 release “Street Urchin”. During the off days on the Europe tour Sean, PMD & Snowgoons recorded 2 songs and were so impressed with the turnout that they decided to do a full length album under the title “Welcome to The Goondox”. Parish being noted for his many contributions to Hip Hop, including the discovering of legends like: Redman, Das Efx and more. Sean Strange being noted for his loyal cult underground following his past works with artists like: D12, Nature, ILL BILL and more. Snowgoons for handling the production for many respected artists from underground legends to hip hop royalty like M.O.P. and all of them known for their ferocious dedication for touring worldwide.
So far The Goondox has toured all through the USA, Canada and Europe since the formation of the group in 2011, completing over 200+ shows in the last 2 years including festivals such as: Rock the Bells, Hip Hop Kemp in Czech Republic and Royal Arena in Switzerland.
Harry Shotta got together with singer, Paris and producer Mista Driscoll to put out this super positive song ‘I’m Flying’. Keep your eyes peeled for his fourthcoming mixtape release via SBTV on the 28th of February.
For some this is going to be an instant love, for others it might prove to be a grower, but I guarantee you will wind up liking this record one way or another. It’s a great mix of new and old skool elements of beat making, and lyrical style. Red Pill & Hir-O are a perfect team, and make good work of each individual song, and no track is a filler. If you’re more a fan of the catchier, hookier tracks then you’ll like this, and if you’re a gritty little kid that only wants to hear bars then there will be something for you here too.
For fans of Fashawn, Murs, Brother Ali, Planet Asia, Macklemore.
Also, if like me (Aimee) you’ve just come out of University/College with a 20,000+ piece of paper with your name on it, but not much else to show for it, then ‘We Are Not Like Them” is for you.
Our man Mr 13 dropping some much needed bars, all from the comfort of his front room (Standard UKHH practice). I know a lot of people think battle rappers can’t write decent tracks or freestyles outside of battles, but Firts proves that in his case that just isn’t true. His next Don’t Flop appearance will be on the 27th of February, so don’t miss that.
You can get his whole discography for free over at the mighty Bandcamp, all for free. Ain’t you the luckiest bunch.
Traxx, from dubstep/hip-hop/grime/hardcore group Astroid Boys recently put out a SpitSwag video. People that think Wales can’t come up with awesome hip-hop are fucking silly.
We recently got a press kit from Denver Colrado MC, Eddie Knolls, and I have to be honest I was convinced on this dude by the time I finished the short intro video. Eddie Knolls is the real deal. No gimmicks, no bullshit, just a straight up hip-hop kid making good music. If you’re a fan of Big L, A Tribe Called Quest, Digital Underground ear-Tupac then you’ll be a fan of this dude. His intro video is really interesting, and he discusses the important difference between hip-hop and rap.
