R.E.A.L tha Poet is a 25 year old rapper/poet based out of Lexington, KY. ‘Dream Deferred’ is from his recent ‘Glass Ceilings’ album. The song is produced by J-Ideas and the video is also filmed and edited by him as well.
R.E.A.L tha Poet said about the song, “Dream Deferred is a song about failure, doubt and rebirth within oneself. The story I use is one from my own personal experiences. I was blessed enough to play college basketball on several different levels via scholarship, however my true calling was music. When you ignore the undeniable God has a way of shifting your life around to have his will done. At the time I didn’t understand, but with time comes peace.

Timothy Rhyme is the epitome of “started at the bottom”. He has clawed his way from being a “local rapper” to becoming UMA West Coast Artist of the Year 2012, headlining his own nationwide tour (The Vintage Tour), performing at Paid Dues 2013 with his team (First Dirt) and gearing up for some big releases in 2014. Having gotten a taste of the gauntlet in the industry, he decided to vent about it on his new release “F#%! You” produced by Juzown out of Reno, Nevada.
The music video is shot and edited by Leksbeat (founder of IntaLEK) in Sacramento, CA. Featuring gear from Acrylick Clothing and kicks from Vlado Footwear, this video appealing on several different wavelengths. Timothy Rhyme and First Dirt have made a huge imprint in the hip hop scene as of 2013 and seems like the ship has barely left the dock.
