London rapper Airklipz continues with his ‘ThemeStyles’ series by releasing a further two visuals with Chiba Visuals this week. Airklipz goes in with bars over the ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Stranger Things’ TV theme tunes.
Look out for his new single “Single Speed” out on December 10th.
Boston MC and EMS crew frontman M-Dot presents the music video for “Give It To Me”, his new Jon Glass-produced single from ‘EgO anD The EneMy’, his forthcoming 2-part album featuring Method Man, Hi-Tek, Large Professor, Marley Marl, Buckwild, M-Phazes, Marco Polo, 7L, !llmind, Da Beatminerz and Snowgoons.
A thematic followup to M-Dot’s “123 Flow” video (watch), “Give It To Me” is a 360 video shot in ‘little planet’ perspective by director Victor Keys in several locations around California. “Give It To Me” comes on the heels of the release of visuals for EgO anD The EneMy singles “Shine” featuring Method Man, Dominique Larue & Katy Gunn (watch) as well as “Dreamscape” (watch).
M-Dot’s last full-length release was ‘Jake LaDOTta’ featuring Ras Kass & Edo G (stream), and his discography includes ‘Run MPC’, ‘Money Doesn’t Own Thought’, ‘Layer Cake’ and ‘Making Doubters Over Think’. M-Dot has won multiple awards in Boston and did a 2012 European tour with Slaughterhouse.
“When I wrote the track I had a lot of built up angst that I felt needed to be poured out,” he says about the track. “I’ve felt a chip on my shoulder my whole life, most of the time it’s something I created (the “enemy” of course symbolic of pride) in order to feed myself fuel to work harder. Nevertheless, if respect wasn’t given, this song was evoking my sentiment that it be taken/earned one way or another. Far as the video goes….our main goal was to avoid doing anything like the first 360° we did. To us, it’s all about growth and it would be lame to repeat the same formula. Was a super fun shoot, albeit most people laughing at me I’m sure as I walked through Oakland streets strapped with a stick/device that held the 7 Gopros.”
Disc 1 of ‘egO anD The eneMy’ is due January 27th, 2017.
After over a year spent in a slight creative slump in a crumbling terraced house in Tottenham, Jam Baxter rang his label boss while heavily intoxicated to request they fly him to Bangkok forthwith, to rejoin forces with ‘…so we ate them whole’ producer and engineer, Chemo. After an initial period of understandable hesitancy, the flights were booked and Baxter found himself suddenly regurgitated from the belly of a Jet Airliner into the magical and surreal surroundings of ‘Mansion 38’.
It seems right that Jam Baxter’s two favourite tracks from the forthcoming ‘Mansion 38’ album, ‘Teeth Marks’ & ‘Soi 36’ be combined into a singular item, a limited edition hand numbered seven inch vinyl.
