@SpikeLee x @RikCordero Basketball Doc, TWIW Ep 2 [VIDEO]

Here is the second episode of TWIW “The World Is Watching” a six-episode basketball documentary directed by Rik Cordero and narrated by legendary New York City filmmaker Spike Lee. The film features prominent teenage athletes competing in a New York City Basketball tournament called Battle of the Boroughs.

It features the best up and coming basketball players in New York City including rising star Maurice Harkless, currently playing for the Orlando Magic. As the players push their bodies to the limit, they must also live up to the expectations of their coaches, their families and their boroughs.

Now when I posted the first episode a few weeks back (watch here) I copped some flack in my fb inbox from a disgruntled follower of HHL&T stating “Whats this got to do with Hip Hop????” Well, for me the two go hand in hand, my summers in the late 80’s early 90’s revolved round shooting hoops with my homies and jamming Hip Hop on the sidelines and endlessly watching Michael Jordan videos, so seeing as its my site thats why its posted!

“THIS SATURDAY, Micall Parknsun and the gang will be over at Concrete in East London to launch his ‘smoking’ new single ‘Grade & Liquor’ – taken from the eagerly antcipated ‘Me Myself & Akai’album!

On the night expect to see live P.A’s from the man himself – alongside YNR‘s very own Jyager and DJ Jazz T – plus some extra-special guests!

The multi-percussion banging, ill-vocal twisting, funky shape-throwing Mo Kolours (OHM) will be bringing his portable lab to the stage.

Onoe Caponoe (Audio Doughnuts) will be invading your space to take you through the interdimensional sounds of his latest album ‘Willow’s Midnight Gallery‘.

And last but not least, new to YNR, but not to the circuit – Confucius will be previewing tracks from his forthcoming ‘Highest Order’ project.

P.A’s start early (10pm!) so don’t sleep. Then it’s over to DJ’s Spin Doctor, Mo Fingaz, and the people’s champ Mr Thing to keep the party bumpin’ ’til the early hours!

Telemachus open’s up spinning a mixed bag plus sneak previews of his ‘In The Evening’ album – forthcoming on YNR. And if that wasn’t enough, this special event will be hosted by the infamous postmanJehst!

**EXCLUSIVE YNR SAMPLER CD! FREE TO THE FIRST 50 PEOPLE THROUGH THE DOOR!!**

As Christmas is only around the corner, the YNR headquarters are doing their Santa duties and giving away this little taster of the various festive flavours on offer from www.ynr-productions.co.uk “
