ANNOUNCES SELECT UK HEADLINE DATES
Action Bronson has announced his return to the UK with five select headline dates, which will see Bronson performing in Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Birmingham and London.
Hailing from Flushing, Queens, Action Bronson is one of the most iconic rap artists currently recording and performing. Prior to his musical career, Arian Asllani, a.k.a. Action Bronson, was a respected gourmet chef in New York, and his passion for food and cooking continues to pervade into his musical output.
Bronson’s swift rise to prominence was galvanized last year by his signing to Atlantic Records/Vice Records. Following this signing Action Bronson released his critically acclaimed ‘Saaab Stories’ EP in June 2013, which was produced in its entirety by notable producer Harry Fraud and saw guest appearances from Raekwon, Wiz Khalifa, and Prodigy.
Renowned for his rambunctious live performances, Bronson’s previous shows in the UK have all been sell outs and have left a lasting impact on audience members. With no consideration for the assumed ‘fourth wall’, Bronson regularly crashes off stage into stage dives and crowd surfing, along with the experience of a conga line or two not being out of the ordinary. There is no doubt that the huge praise Bronson has received for his releases is translated to his truly engaging and unforgettable live performances.
In anticipation of his debut major label album, which is due to land this year, the release of Bronson’s latest mixtape ‘Blue Chips 2’ received very positive reviews across the board and was named XXL Mag’s 4th Best Mixtape of 2013
After recently confirming to Rolling Stone Magazine that both Kool G Rap and Mobb Deep will feature on his upcoming album, Action Bronson’s return to the UK is set to be a very special event.

The multi-instrumentalist, the rapper and the legendary Los Angeles based producer MADLIB, will be flying in for a rare and exclusive Soundcrash London performance at KOKO on 19th April 2014 with the company of some serious support: Brainfeeder’s JEREMIAH JAE, Werkdiscs’ MOIRE + a DJs favourite DJ, KUTMAH! Beatmakers and beyond, come show some love for the Mad Liberator.Certainly not needing any introduction, MADLIB is a loop-digger, excavating the sounds of the past and harnessing his scattered ideas and musical fragments into a cohesive train of thought. Madlib’s whole life revolves around music. His 4 tonne record library spans countless genres, with his symphonies including one-man jazz séances, sweltering reggae and Brazilian mixes, attic-creaking instrumental hip-hop, and collaborations with acts like J Dilla and Erykah Badu.
“Some people think I’m crazy but I’m just a normal dude that loves music.” – Madlib 2014
Madlib has been a man of many aliases having begun his music career in the early 1990’s. Releasing his first proper album as Madlib in 2002, he set himself apart with his future thinking and individual approach to production. A year later he teamed up with the late hip hop producer J Dilla, cementing the duo’s project Jaylib to wide acclaim. During this period Madlib also collaborated with a myriad other world renowned hip hop artists including Mos Def, De La Soul, Ghostface Killah and Talib Kweli. In 2004 he partnered up with DOOM to record ‘Madvillainy’ making for one hip hop’s most influential albums of recent years. Madlib ranks among the most influential artists of his generation. Odd Future, Flying Lotus, Four Tet and Thom Yorke have all borrowed from the Beat Konducta; even Kanye West once trekked to Highland Park to meet with Madlib in his Masonic temple-turned-studio.
JEREMIAH JAE is a Chicago based emcee, producer, healer, and artist on Flying Lotus’ record label Brainfeeder. He is also a member of the group YBP (Young Black Preachers), and apart of the Black Jungle Squad Cxllective.
Jae’s orbited around the vibrant LA beat scene for ages. After meeting FlyLo online years ago, he decamped to the West Coast for a good six months and soaked up the mind-expanding sounds emanating from the venerable imprint. Soon he got signed, and after exploring soundscapes around the globe with labelmate Teebs, Jae finally abandoned Chi-town to make weird art-rap in LA full time .
“I think it’s safe to say Jeremiah Jae is one of my favorite artists of his generation. For years now I’ve been a witness to the incredible progression of his craft. Underrated and understated, Jae is ready to show these muhfuckers what’s really good. Believe in Jeremiah Jae” – Flying Lotus
Werkdiscs + Ninja Tune’s latest signing MOIRE, makes his debut Soundcrash performance as part of this mega KOKO lineup. If you don’t know him -you soon will as his brand new EP ‘Never Sleep, out 4 February 2014, is the result of a lack of sleep – the obsessive expressions of a mind inspired by the city and the scene that has surrounded him for a long time…
The London producer is set for big things, as 2014 already sees him gaining major interest from the likes of FACT Magazine, Dummy, RA and XLR8R.
“When talking about Kutmah, it’s tempting to use an epithet such as “the best DJ you’ve never heard”, or “best kept secret”. But we like to think enough people know about him now to make that unnecessary.” – FACT Magazine on KUTMAH
This is a unique show that and a rare chance to see one of the most acclaimed artists of the last 20 years on your very doorstep, with some seriously heavyweight support. But then, you knew that.

The Doctor’s Orders are excited to mark the release of feature length Stones Throw Records documentary ‘Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton’ with this official London launch party.
Following a screening and Q&A Stones Throw head honcho Peanut Butter Wolf joins us for a 2 hour AV set. Trusted world wide as a musical tastemaker and arbiter of cool he will be mixing a set of music videos and film clips that have been an influence on him and the releases on his hugely popular record label. From Madlib to J-Dilla, MF Doom to Aloe Blacc and Dam-Funk to Mayer Hawthorne the impact the label has on Hip-Hop and today’s wider music scene can not be underestimated and tonight will help you understand why.
Representing the label’s influence on home shores we have a team of brilliant DJs all of whom would not be spinning, making or releasing the music they are were it not for Stones Throw’s impact. Mr Thing is without doubt the UK’s best Hip-Hop DJ and will often be heard cutting up much of Stones Throw’s catalogue in his floor filling sets. Paul White is one of the school of producers influenced by the work of Madlib and J-Dilla. He has collaborated with Stones Throw artist Guilty Simpson and has the ‘White Sands EP’ coming out this month with Homeboy Sandman the label.
Alexander Nut has followed in the path of Peanut Butter Wolf in setting up his own hugely popular independent label, Eglo Records, releasing music from Floating Points, FunkinEven, Fatima, Flako and others (who’s names don’t all start with F). As ever bringing the whole party together is Spin Doctor who’s love of J-Dilla is no secret.
Collectively there is little doubt of the weight of these guys’ collections and talent so get ready to celebrate with them as they stand together and shout ‘Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton’
