Who is Gen? This project still won’t answer the question but it will certainly allow you to be just that little more acquainted with the EATGOOD emcee with a plethora of talent.
Here on ‘Live In Colour’ Gen respectably borrows some BADBADNOTGOOD covers and laces them with a myriad of bars littered with everything from video game references, relationship advice, streams of consciousness and world observations from a busy mind at work.
Various retail projects from Gen are already in the works as well as a personal vault of recorded music that spans gigabyes, YES GIGABYTES. The Live in Color dubs are fruits of lab sessions between Gen and Kosyne started late last year and finished earlier on this year. EATGOOD leaked ‘The Good The Bad Bad And The Ugly’ a few months back while they figured out how to package the rest of the dubs.
This short colleciton of tracks should serve as a tasting plate for Gen’s talents, stay tuned for more; this is just the beginning!

What would 4 of the grimmiest NY hip hop artists do if the apocalypse was here? Find out as “This is the End”, one of the stand out tracks from Eff Yoo’s critically acclaimed “Papa Dios” album, gets the remix treatment by Brooklyn producer and long time Eff Yoo collaborator Golden Child. Featuring NEMS , Starvin B and Thirstin Howl the 3rd, “This is the End” is the first single from the Resurrection Eedition of Papa Dios which includes 5 remixes and a brand new interlude which only adds to the allure of an album that’s already named by many on their “best of” list for 2015.
Drawing inspiration from various works in the Bible, Eff Yoo’s latest effort, Papa Dios, is the result of blending various parables, with gritty street raps street raps, over triumphant instrumentals, all executive produced by Chi-Town beatsmith, Rediculus. Concept albums, however, are common ground for the Queen’s raised emcee, whose previous titles include, ‘Legend of the Gnomesword,’ and the Donald Goines inspired, ‘Bodega Businessman.’ Eff Yoo has also recently unveiled his collaborative project, ‘They Came On Horseback,’ with Godilla, of Battle Axe Warriors fame; their efforts led to having the album chart amongst iTunes’ Top Ten Independent Titles, upon its release.
Sonically, Eff Yoo’s blend of braggadocios rhymes, intellect and imagination bring shine to, ‘Papa Dios.’ Whereas some tracks, such as the album’s opener, “The First Power,” followed by, “Lust In Eden,” give off a more laid back vibe, others such as the cinematic “This is the End,” and “Don’t Blame the Messengers,” prove that Eff isn’t afraid to deliver his wrath to the critics and haters. Combined, the ten track offering bravely showcase Eff’s lyrical depth and poetic genius. ‘Papa Dios’ includes guest features from the likes of Tragedy Khadafi, Thirstin Howl III, Nems, Spit Gemz, Born Unique, and Godilla, among others, and is now available for stream via AudioMack, and SoundCloud.
