The new single, “Just Begun” from Buckshot & P-Money’s upcoming album, ‘BackPack Travels,’ features Raz Fresco.
The 19-year old MC and producer, from Toronto, Canada, has brought on Duck Down Music to provide co-management, and distribution for his label, Black Light, which Raz owns with long time manager, Soze Brooks. Raz Fresco is prepping two mixtapes for the remainder of the year. ‘The Screwface Tape’ will be released in late June, followed by ‘Pablo Frescobar.’
‘Backpack Travels’ is out June 24th on Dawn Raid / Dirty Records / Duck Down Music.

This is a left over cut from London based emcee Reppatwa forthcoming project, ‘Reppalations 21:2’ – which is due to be released sometime during Summer 2014. The track is Produced by Moteleola, also from London.
Underground UK Hip Hop label De Facto are all about capturing that classic, boom bap vibe, and their latest release, ‘Supplying The Demand’, from MC- Producer duo Raw Product (consisting of rapper Mista Flix and producer Stealf, who is also the label boss) certainly keeps to this mission statement.
Throughout the 7 track EP Stealf provides a moody, atmospheric and gritty sonic backdrop for the intricate, clever, but sometimes disjointed rhymes of Flix.
The emphasis throughout the EP is on re capturing the true essence of Hip Hop and denouncing the modern sound (the motto of the group is ‘Trueness… not newness’), with Flix repeatedly lambasting those he feels are corrupting the true essence of the music.
This approach will divide listeners, with those who agree with the duos motto and viewpoint, that Hip Hops golden era has passed and modern rap is not up to scratch, undoubtedly appreciating and enjoying the EP’s clever rhymes, lack of materialism and gritty beats. However if you are looking for cutting edge sounds and a more modern style this may not be for you.
The duo deliver a solid release that does exactly what it sets out to do, and fans of De Facto will love it. Personal favourites include ‘Major Weight ( Made Ya Wait)’, which finds Flix, alongside the legendary Cappo, delivering fire over possibly my favourite beat from the EP, and ‘Choose Your Weapon’ featuring Jehst, which again finds Flix providing some of his best lyrics in my opinion.
Fans of the Boom Bap revival movement will no doubt love this EP, and the duo can be proud of this uncompromising release.
