M.O.P. will celebrate their 20th anniversary with a new EP, ‘Street Certified’, which will be released on 18-11-2014 and is executive produced by DJ Premier.
On the latest leak, “Broad Daylight” (187 Part 2), from Street Certified, A-List Alumni Billy Danze & Lil Fame link up with Busta Rhymes and “off your on switch”!
Music is an exchange of ideas. This album is something for those exhausted with the shuck and jive of pop culture, who believe in the purification rituals offered by hard snares, funky drum kicks, soul-coughing bass, and deeply rooted vibrations.
Steadfastly infusing their songs with spirituality and positivity, yU and Slimkat are everymen with preternatural talent. Over the years, they’ve tirelessly built a rep in the DMV, collaborating on yU’s The Earn and Before Taxes, which OkayPlayer called “one of the best hip-hop albums released in the last few years.” In 2009, yU released In the Ruff as the philosophical heart of super-group Diamond District, a record hailed by MTV as “arguably the best hip-hop ever released in D.C.”
Slimkat supplies the beats that make the blood rush to your head. Named one of the best producers of 2010 by KevinNottingham.com, he’s dished countless production dimes to the likes of Muhsinah, Eric Roberson, Diamond District, and more.
The People of Today is a seamless and head-spinning record. It’s hard-boiled beats and raps laced with wisdom and virtue. The sort of record that you can sit with today and tomorrow, and any time you need to be reminded that we’re all in this together.
‘S.F.M.S Volume One’ is the brand new EP from Bristol rapper D-Red who first bust onto the Hip-Hop scene back in 2013 when he did his debut performance on the Main Stage at St. Paul’s Carnival. This led to him getting booked again this year too playing on the Windrush Stage with Bristol vet K*Ners and Gillz amongst others. Other notable live performances include the Hobbs Fashion Show during Bristol Fashion Week and Glastonbury, as well as sharing stages with the likes of Buggsy, Bil Nex, Jinxsta JX, K*Ners, King Aggi, Hozay, Krazy & Drillz and Lowdose.
Both on Ujima & Passion FM have shown radio support as well as being interviewed live numerous times, all championing D-Red’s unique sound. As his buzz built he was asked to be part of the Bristol-Rio Project which has allowed D-Red to collaborate with talented Brazilian artists as part of an upcoming album. Future plans include going over to Brazil to do live shows, radio appearances and more work to help push the D-Red sound internationally.
To be honest D-Red is no rookie to working on an international level as his first release and most successful song to date ‘Just Some Weed Bars’ was produced by French DJ/Producer Matka, a veteran of the French festival circuit. The track received over a thousand plays on his Soundcloud page in less than a month and when the music video dropped on You Tube it had over a thousand views on You Tube with zero promotion, as well as getting in K Mag’s Top Ten videos of the month.
This track & video have lead to upcoming features with artists all over the globe, from Vard in Sheffield to Viz Beats in California, from MaHan Mnt in Iran to Berbal in Chile, and of course SweetDish Nelson Barros as well as rest of the HighGang collective in France. D-Red is getting known in so many different countries that it’s only a matter of time before he blows.
‘S.F.M.S Volume One’ is produced by J-Max aka JMaxfield, a young underground producer from Bristol and was recorded in Paris, mixed & mastered in the west of France. It’s ‘international UK Hip-Hop’ all the way. This EP is features no guests, therefore giving the listener the perfect chance to step inside the mind of the artist. This is just the beginning, the start of something epic… D-Red has concreted himself in the Bristol Hip-Hop scene and now it’s time to take things global.
D-Red is hard at work and back in the studio currently creating two separate EP’s. The first one with Ghetto Funk producer Deeploy and the other with upcoming London producer Drae DaSkimask. Things are bubbling, it’s all go… it’s all about D-Red, we advise you to remember the name!

Millennium Jazz Music present their second Locations project as they bring you the Brazil edition and continue to explore the different sounds, styles and cultures from various countries around the world.
During the making of this album some of the Jazz Jousters dug up some beautiful musicà as they studied Brazil and found inspiration in the history, the stories and the pride of the people and their love of their musicà.
MJM hope you can hear and feel their inspiration through the results of this session. This one was so special it was decided that it would be recorded on another batch of limited collectable cassettes ..a decision which was also influenced by another one of James Greenway’s designs on the cover, cassette and inlay card, before they even completed the album.
