Shay D returns with ‘Suffragettes’, the first drop off her upcoming new album ‘Human Writes’. ‘Suffragettes’ is a high energy, feminine fueled banger produced by Nutty P!
It is a fun song, but a reminder to those who may forget and educating any who do not know, to celebrate the 100th year of the Suffrage where women fought hard to win the right to vote. The video is tongue in cheek featuring all different women standing together.
‘Long Gone’ is the latest visual to be lifted of Dabbla’s upcoming LP ‘Death Moves’ the track features his Dead Players brother Jam Baxter with iLL Production by Sumgii.
Check the second visual from Bristol’s Twizzy for his track ‘Old Flow’, lifted off his latest dope album ‘Old Dog No Tricks’, produced entirely by the equally talented Billy Whizz.
In the visual we see Twizzy dropping bars whilst riding a classic 80’s Raleigh Chopper, delivering the wordplay and flow that we’ve been accustomed to from the ever consistent emcee, as his producer buddy Billy searches for his lost bike, with Twizzy never too far behind. Rumour has it Billy still hasn’t found that bike!
Great visual to accompany a great track and an even better album. Get Twizzy’s ‘Old Dog No Tricks’ LP, produced by Billy Whizz on CD and digital format here
Back at the end of July, Genesis Elijah dropped the single and visual for ‘Man Down’.
Us men can find it hard to share our feelings and inner most thoughts. Genesis Elijah uses ‘Man Down’ to highlight this, mental health and raise awareness to male suicide through his lyrics and with a powerful ending to the video. (Which also reveals a surprising statistic about male suicide in the UK)
I’ve unfortunately known men who have taken their own lives. I’ve suffered with mental health issues myself and still see a psychiatric nurse once a month to get stuff off my chest and take daily medication. It doesn’t make you ‘moist’ or ‘soft’ or whatever term people wanna throw about. There’s no need to suffer in silence, reach out and talk to someone. Human’s can surprise you sometimes.
Check the lead video for the soulful cut ‘Hope’ from production duo Earth2Tom featuring Keesha Simpson & Daak Martin, taken from the duo’s debut 15 track album ‘ONE’.
Keesha whose soulful tones ride the instrumental for the track said “The beat brought out the positivity of how much struggle I came through and strength I tapped into to get me where I am and it͛’s something to be very proud, happy and hopeful about͛”.
Earth2Tom are producers Tom Foolery Beats and Charles the Earthman, who bring smooth dusty boom bap hip hop, with conscious lyrics and a positive vibe. For the past year, they have been building excitement and hype towards the album release as they’ve showcased the following videos…
‘Robotz’ (featuring Confucius MC)
‘N_WRD’ (featuring FRSHRZ)
‘You’ (featuring Holly Flo Lightly).
With the support of the label Club FRSHRZ, Earth2Tom have now unleashed the dope LP ‘ONE’ with a range of jazzy, soulful and contemporary hip hop beats and great contributions from the featured artists.
