If like me, you may already know Lukey Storey given his previous musical experiences which includes being an Under 15’s DMC Champ, BBC Radio 1Xtra’s youngest DJ, he also built up a strong reputation where he has played hundreds of venues such as O2 and Jazz Café including during his period as Professor Green’s DJ all under the name of DJ IQ for 8 years. However it is now time for Lukey Storey to share his own voice.
Lukey Storey has now made his debut as an artist with his official single “What It’s Like”. It depicts, true to its title, ‘What it’s Like’ for him as a musician and as a human being as he gets ferociously honest about his addictions, mental health, and his previous life as a tour DJ, painting a vivid picture.
“What It’s Like’ features the vocals of Katie Holmes Smith and is produced by L.E.N. The Hip Hop nerd in me however can’t let it slide that the beat originally featured on the track ‘So Far’ on Micall Parknsun’s classic 2009 album ‘First Second Time Around‘, but that’s no criticism on Lukey.
‘Check It Out’, Produced by Prozac is Benofficials third release on Potent Funk Records following on from the debut singles ‘Machine Gun Benny’ and ‘MVN FWD’.
