Check out Dope UK turntabilist DJ Madhandz November ‘Digital Boom Bap’ mix. ‘Digital Boom Bap’ features tracks from AG & ROC MARCIANO, JOEY BADA$$, DOPPELGANGAZ, PRYHME, UGLY HEROS and more.
Madhandz said about the mix “A mix I planned and got recorded in one day using some newer tracks from 2015 from some of my favourite albums released this year.
A little bit of beat juggling thrown in for good measure and of course mixed by myself none of that sync business!!”
TYP-ILL returns with the visuals for “Let ‘Em Talk” as featured on his hailed ‘Veterans Day’ LP, produced entirely by Statik Selektah.
The video, which Typ played a large role in producing, was both directed and edited by Hostage Media, who balance the Long Island rapper’s rapid-fire flow with equal doses of quick-panning shots and slow-motion scenes. The latter helps to drive home the song’s message of not worrying about what others are saying about you, because more often than not, they’re just jealous of your success.
Few people can claim to know that feeling better than Typ, who returned home after several tours of duty defending his country, to experience first hand, the petty-minded haters that would try to throw shade towards his movement. But as he says on the track, giving those clowns lip service is exactly what they want—“So let ‘em talk, it’s only breath.”
‘Veterans Day’ is now available through every major digital retailer/streaming service, and can be purchased on CD, courtesy of Fat Beats.

Bristol trio The Scribes consisting of lyricist/multi instrumentalist Ill Literate, rapper Jonny Steele and beatbox maestro Lacey have today dropped their latest release ‘The Scribes Present Mr Teatime & The End Of The World’.
The talented trio first came to my attention when Aimee introduced me to their music back in our StandUpUK days and we continued to support and be fans of their music when I set up HHLAT and they were one of the first people to kindly appear in a video on our youtube channel.
Since then the guys have moved on to build a solid fan base, earning rave reviews and renowned for delivering breath taking performances full of energy and off the cuff freestyling guaranteed to move any crowd. Known for their award winning live show The Scribes push the limits of hip hop to almost breaking point, both musically and lyrically, to create the group’s trademark sound featuring a seamless blend of live instrumentation and sampling set against a block rocking backdrop of booming bass and hard hitting breaks, with appeal reaching far beyond traditional hip hop fare.
They continue that mantra with this new release, the group are back with a brand new concept, something a little bit different than you may be use to, lets set the scene for you….
The Scribes received this message “My name is Mr Teatime, I am contacting you from the year 2074. The world is now a very different place. After the bomb dropped the robots took control. Please heed my warning. I am so alone.”
‘Mr Teatime & The End Of The World’ tells the story of the catastrophic end of life as we know it and the desperate quest of the eponymous last man alive to stop the rise of the robots and find other survivors.
A lyrical tribute to 80’s sci-fi movies set against a daring soundscape of glitchy, dusty hip hop “Mr Teatime & The End Of The World” seemlessly captures the relentless desperation of mankind’s last survivor in an eminently listenable and entertaining fashion.
Initially I didn’t quite get it to be honest, with background noise and constant chitter chatter I couldn’t full take on everything that was hitting me. Finally after a few listens and some ‘me’ time, this clever release began to grow on me. This quirky release is bursting full of originality and this well conceived concept is why we are such massive fans of The Scribes. Their creativity knows no bounds and they are always looking to push the boundaries of Hip Hop, you could call this a 7 track Hip Hopera
Once you become fully submersed in the release The Scribes take us on a musical journey into a dark future, but one that captures your attention throughout. From something I thought I wasn’t going to enjoy, this is one SICK release and something you need to check out now!!

Mykill Miers speaks honestly in this song where he talks about his past and recalls the demons he struggles against throughout his career, and the consequences of his troubles. “Pain” is the first single of DJ Duke’s EP “Time To Shine” dropping January 22nd on vinyl and digital.

PRhyme (Royce Da 5’9” & DJ Premier) return with an extended digital deluxe release of their critically acclaimed, self-titled debut collaborative effort, which features appearances from Black Thought, Logic Joey Bada$$, MF Doom and Phonte.
After premieres with Complex, Zane Lowe, Pitchfork & Noisey, PRhyme returns with “Wishin II” featuring Black Thought of the legendary Roots crew.
“Wishin II” starts with a heartfelt dedication to the late Rich Nichols (The Roots manager) sending his love and words to the whole Illa Fifth crew; but once the salute comes to an end, Tariq and Royce dismantle the Preemo beat as only they can.
