Early last week we saw the release of XO the Rebellion’s third music video to come out this year for their MPC driven hip hop track ‘The Path’ out now on RapCityTV. This simple yet hard hitting visual was shot with no rehearsals and in one single camera cut. In the video we witness the artists make a change from their more effects driven music videos where Todd Dn1, Stephen 5n6 and Closure 7vn (XO the Rebellion) are usually obscured by smoke, gas masks and all types of interesting special effects.
The Path is already gathering lots of plays and positive feedback on the internet as these fresh and upcoming artists continue to bring something special to British music. London based artist Peaky returns hot on the heels of his last album release ‘Crazy Pupil Syndrome’ with a brand new single called ‘Contamination’ taken off his forthcoming self-produced EP, ‘Abstract Nudities’, coming in 2015. This refreshingly creative, original and very unique artist is something can’t afford to sleep on. This is Hip-Hop music that is progressive and forward thinking, something for the mind and the soul.

Peaky is also part of the collective known as FRWRDthnkrs which he runs with experimental, electronic Hip-Hop producer HAWF who produced the ‘Advent’ project where together they released one track a day for the 25 days of December up to Christmas, at the end of 2013. Peaky has also toured South California performing alongside Hip-Hop legends such as Bizzy Bone, Reverie & Devin the Dude. He was also made a member of the West Coast collective theFreshState, proving once more that he is more than just your average UK emcee.

True Hold records in association with Music Comes First Records proudly present the Edinburgh Residents EP by Conscious Route & Madhat McGore. Conscious Route & Madhat McGore met on the wrong side of the fence but overturned their differences to collaborate on this solid release. With two very different styles, the pair seem to bring a tangible mix of heavy Scottish and English flows. Show casing that the better together campaign may not have a been complete waste of time, at least in terms of music.

Conscious Route; A rapper, originally known as Mosman from England-based hip hop crew Fugazirum, Conscious Route has been working from his now-home city of Edinburgh, releasing solid music for the past three years. He has been building a strong reputation and gaining recognition from releases like the ‘Sinking LP’ with United Front artist Sean El, and the more recently released ‘Labyrinth EP’ with the Monosapiens band, to name just two. Also networking hard and gaining features with French producer Marie Joly (Offering Recordings) on the track ‘Just Be’, and Mr Fox’s ‘Quarantine’ from Dubstep the label Simplify Recordings, plus many more; Conscious Route is fast becoming a well-known artist on the UK and International scene.
Madhat McGore; The award winning recording artist from Edinburgh has been working hard behind the scene to work on possibly his greatest release to date with his Numbers mixtape. Featuring the likes of Mic Righteous, Lego & Squingy to name just a few, this release is expected to showcase that his lyrics, delivery and attitude have only sharpened since his last OMA nominated mixtape Wonderland was released. Hosted by London heavyweight DJ Livewire and production that keeps your head bobbing, you do not want to miss it.
