On November 5th, 1996, Toronto-based record label, Beat Factory released the seminal Canadian hip-hop compilation “Rap Essentials Volume One”. Helping to propel the careers of such rhyming heavyweights as Kardinal Offishall, Choclair and Ghetto Concept, the project would also mark the official debut of Dan-e-o, as it included the single “Dear Hip Hop”.
18 years later, the now-classic joint is the title track of a brand new album, available exclusively on vinyl through France’s Sergent Records. Containing two never-before-released versions of “Dear Hip Hop”, production from Scam and Korry Deez and guest appearances by Choclair, Frankenstein, Grimace Love and Nish Raawks, the 10-track “Dear Hip Hop” LP is out now!
