One of my favourite scratch routines from a Hip Hop track! Here we have a demonstration from DJ Supreme from legendary UK crew Hijack with the Yodel Scratch he created in 1989 and performed on the track “Airwave Hijack”.
Supreme says “Contrary to popular belief I was not using the 33/45 speed buttons, but tapping, rubbing and pushing the turntable platter to mimic vocalisation. Later on a similar technique was applied for the car screech scratch on Badman Is Robin”
