Applied Science are Hip Hop duo; Beat-maker/turntablist DJ Alkemy and MC Pun-Ra. The Newport, Wales based group combine their love of good music and good times bringing nothing but Blues influenced Boom Bap beats expertly peppered with razor sharp cuts/scratching and lyrical slaughter.
‘Booze, Blues & Hip-Hop’ was born from the duo’s shared love of Rhythm & Blues (REAL Rhythm & Blues), Hip-Hop and of course, beer. Written and recorded over the course of 14 months the album features the likes of Rob Kelly, Joe Dirt (Squid Ninjaz), Junior Disprol (Dead Residents etc), BeSpoken (JuggaNote, K.O.B, Red Dragon Gang), Jigster & Urban Legends. The album is full of bass heavy sample driven tracks expertly laced with Pun-Ra’s dark poetic lyrics. Predominantly produced by DJ Alkemy and Mixed and Mastered by the Doc BlackdaWho at Boom HQ/Mean Business Studios.
