Mr Bigz brings us the new single ‘Soul Food’ from his upcoming EP
Featuring the vocal talents of Max Marshall, who starred on Matrix & Futurebound’s UK Top 10 hit Control earlier this year, ‘Soul Food’ was premiered by Charlie Sloth on his BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra Saturday night simulcast. The single is taken from Mr Bigz’s ‘S.U.M.M.E.R.’ EP, which is available to pre-order on iTunes NOW ahead of its August 31st release.
The feel-good track, produced by Para Beats, is the official follow-up single to The Ride, which featured Giggs and sat proudly on the BBC 1Xtra playlist for several weeks. Both songs share the soulful sound that the artist formerly known as Bigz has become known for, following a 9-stone weight loss that inspired the smoother Mr Bigz persona and musical influence first seen with last year’s acclaimed mixtape My Funked Up Soul.
The response to The Ride single earlier this year, a remix to the mixtape version, spawned the idea of the S.U.M.M.E.R. EP, with the official project to feature more of Mr Bigz’s first-class flows with classic samples and big hooks. Check out the track list below:
