A really well researched and cleverly written track from Akbar. A clear narrative with the initial beginnings of the transatlantic slave trade, that brings us up to the present day touching on the prison system, slave mentality within hip-hop and wider popular culture…oh blahblah..actually you know what? The content within this song does a far better job of explaining itself than I will. Great lyrics, great production and I’m a fan of the horns. Go listen.
