Durham NC based artist Alex Aff starts off the year with a new visual to his self produced record “Everything I Know”. The Hood Crucial directed visual illuminates the pure lyricism of the seemingly normal kid that is Alex Aff as he tells his meticulous stories in a state of solitude.
Reel Lyfe Society artist, and Boston’s own Mike Mckenzie has released yet another song off his latest project “Stand By” titled “Hoe”. Don’t let the title fool you, this is not your typical song. In fact his spin on the title actually references cheating men in a relationship instead of women.
Once again Mckenzie mixes his story telling ability with witty lyricism to deliver a tale that relates to the daily relationship struggles of the common people. The song speaks from a man’s perspective and shows how it changes throughout a relationship due to certain problems like arguments, fighting, etc. Production on this track is like many others on the mixtape, meaning Boston made. Mynature kicks off 2014 with new track Spin Em. On the record Mynature talks about the monotony of the rap game, the way in which everyone is rapping with the same flows and talking about the same things and how UK artists need to unite more and recognise each others talents so that a genuine scene can be built.
In a nod to the old school Mynature makes it known that in his opinion he is the best rapper out and will lyrically Spin any other MC that attempts to compete with him.
