Hip hop artist, record producer, actor, screenwriter, film producer, and director, Ice Cube, stopped by Sway in the Morning to promote his new movie, Ride Along, which is in theaters now. He explained to us why the funny movie, featuring Kevin Hart, was shelved for 10 years — and why the movie industry generates more income than the music industry.

Transcending from the topic of film to music, Cube tells us that the NWA movie has gotten it’s start, and that Dr. Dre is on board as a producer, and all rights were cleared from Eazy E’s estate. Cube also tells us that he is working on his next album, Everythang’s Corrupt, and reveals his personal list of the greatest… “Melly Mel, Rakim & Chuck D,” he tells Sway.

They couldn’t let him leave without kicking a freestyle though! Watch above, plus catch his new movie, Ride Along, in theaters now.

The track combines the lyrical prowess of Canibus and Modenine, one of Africa’s top spitters, with the assistance of Mark Deez to complete the cypher. “Super Human” is also set to appear on Modenine’s forthcoming project Above Ground Level ‘AGL’ (release date TBD).

South-East London rapper Premz has made another major move as he enlists the vocals of Emanny and bars of Trev Rich for the transatlantic collaboration ‘Break Me Down’.
The young emcee had a great breakthrough year in 2013, with his mixtape The Last Impression earning acclaim and plays on the likes of BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra. Collaborations with UK hip-hop royalty in S.A.S. and Bigz (Eurogang) followed, but now with what is perhaps his biggest track yet Premz has teamed up with Trev Rich – the Denver rapper signed to Joe Budden’s Mood Muzik Entertainment – and New York singer Emanny for a song that will earn the wider attention he deserves.
Trev Rich appeared on The Last Impression, and their second team-up does not disappoint, while Emanny’s chorus show just why he is an in-demand singer across the pond following the success of his Songs About HER and Songs About You projects.
‘Break Me Down’ is the first reveal of an exciting time ahead for Premz, who has more great music on the way very soon. This new song is free to download via Soundcloud so be sure to check it out!
