From Lennon’s underground album “Hindsight” here’s the official music video for the single “Gangsta”. On the track Lennon recruits two of his brothers in Mayhem, Paypa and Tree (who also handles production duties), to shine light on what it means to REALLY be a gangsta as opposed to what most of society views as such.
Directed by J2, the visual is filled powerful imagery from one of American history’s most turbulent eras. The little-over 5 minute clip somewhat places the artists in the shoes of some of Black America’s most powerful and vocal leaders, putting a modern twist on the era’s struggles, fashion, and overall feel. This song was one of the most talked about tracks from Lennon’s original 12-track offering which is set to be re-released, packed with more bonus content. It was only fitting that it be given the visual treatment it deserved.
