Continuing his brief interlude from ‘Super Arkane’ singles before its release next month, Bristol-based rapper ThisisDA unleashes a new loose track entitled ‘Unstoppable’.
Keeping things short and sweet, the Ecstra Kool-produced cut lasts barely over a minute and a half, but utilises the time to share a story that is not often shared in hip-hop: “It’s coming from the unexplored perspective of a male talking on his experiences of his alcoholic girlfriend,” explains ThisisDA. “We hear about females being the emotional victims, all too often, but it’s interesting to hear what this is like on the flipside.”
“I’m teetotal myself, so it’s unlikely that you’ll ever hear any champagne anthems ringing out of one of my studio sessions,” he went on to share. “So I guess the concept only makes sense.”
Despite the deep storytelling of the track, it was actually formed via a freestyle session without a structure or direction to begin with, the story almost evolving as a by-product.
Having recently been supported by the likes of Noisey, The Needle Drop, EarMilk, SB.TV, BBC, Mechanical Dummy and many others, ThisisDA is definitely a one to watch for 2014, and this is to be consolidated with his impressive debut album Super Arkane – a collaboration with Manchester-based producer Mankub – which is set to drop next month.

On December 4, 2013, Skyzoo will partner with producer Antman Wonder to release his final offering for the year: a concept album titled ‘An Ode To Reasonable Doubt’ (AOTRD), presented by Sky’s imprint First Generation Rich, Inc. and Loyalty Digital Corp.
As the title suggests, the independent project – featuring nine new Skyzoo x Antman collaborations – pays homage to Jay-Z’s 1996 debut album, with the release date carefully chosen to further honor the elder Brooklyn MC.
The EP is being offered as a “Pay What You Want” release, with incentives offered at various price points. Loyalty Digital Corp. has partnered with several influential brands to offer incentive deluxe packages for those fans who are moved to support the project, including exclusive autographed merchandise and other prizes.

Detroit’s Kid Vishis has just released the first single from his debut album which is due for release in March 2014 on Seven 13 Music.
The younger brother of Royce da 5 9 is no novice having started out in the city’s open mic circuit over 10 years ago, and first dropped some verses on the M.I.C. Vol 1 mixtape in 2003. Over the past 10 years he has toured the States, Canada and Europe with D12, Slaughterhouse and performed at shows with Slum Village, Rakim, Ghostface, Talib Kweli and Slick Rick.
Honing his craft live to international audiences and releasing multiple mixtapes including the “Sick ‘Em” series, as well as appearing on Royce’s albums “Street Hop” & “Success is Certain”, Kid Vishis has become one of the most respected lyricists of the next generation, and the album one of the most eagerly anticipated for many years. Production is courtesy of names such as Mr Porter & Freddie Foxxx, with the first single “Heaven” showcasing Vishis’ wordplay over beats by Nemesis
