SUPRA out of Compton just released the new single entitled “Loyal” the west coast emcee linked up with C Plus to exchange tales of loyalty and those that don’t keep it. Also with production from GWMG’s in house producer Ryan Ryu Alexy (Lloyd banks – Drop a Diamond)
2nd single from Savant’s coming “Initial Entry” release features the artist weaving an audio epistle wherein he assumes the role of a would be father speaking regretfully to his aborted children. The De La Croix supplied soundscape melds and meshes seamlessly with a warm piano outro from Vinyl Party Band affiliate Derek Howa and Savant’s singing and rapping vocals and introspective lyrics to create an all-around soul stirring listen.
From the masterminds that brought you ThinkTank, comes another chart stormer of a song!…Well actually I kid, I don’t think you’ll find it on your student union’s jukebox anytime soon (Gross. What up Newport Uni class of 2011!) I was just running out of funny intros I’m sorry, but it is very good hip-hop. Over the past year or so both ThinkTank have grown a lot style and production-wise. What they started out with was good, but it had a lot of holes and cracks that needed filling in; and like the hardworkin’ troopers they’ve spent they time filling those holes in. The result is better style, flow, content and production (see what you can accomplish kids, reach for the rainbow!) some of which can be heard in their recently released self-titled EP which we reviewed, and can now be heard below via a little solo effort from Nephilim (one half of the ThinkTank), along with the production talents of Faulty Clicks.
The song is very reminiscent of Caxton Press, Haan and Fliptrix, but stands out well on its own without sounding derivative of the other influences, and make me pretty excited to hear what else the ThinkTank camp will be throwing out over the next year.
Also, how ridiculous is Faulty Clicks on this track? Very ridiculous is your answer mate.
