Middlesbrough duo Leddie and Smoggy recently released their debut album ‘Sorry We’re Late…’ ( an apt title, seeing as we’re late on posting this ourselves here at HHL&T). Now regulars of the site will know that both myself and Aimee are massive fans of this duo and this album is a perfect example of why.
Entirely Produced by Leddie – “Sorry We’re Late…” also features instrumentation by Alex Bailey, Who also Mixed and Mastered the album, Jamie Donnelly, Kieren Kemp and Gemma Haddow, Cuts from DJs Joe Sensation and Tony White, as well as guest vocals from Ben Turner and Bre Musiq.
The full length project was recorded in their glamorous home studio – a damp, cold vacant room with 2 mattresses and a bed base (left by previous tennants of Smog’s house) …The duo wiped down the materials and constructed a vocal booth – to deaden the sound’s of police sirens, then got to work with recording the 16 track album.
‘Sorry We’re Late…’ aims to reconcile their individual music passions; fusing Hip Hop with elements of soul and blues with their alliteration and machine gun etiquette rap. Available to download for just a fiver, filled with Lyricism, dope production and cuts, you will soon see why we’re big fans of the duo.
